Re:Soma Water Filters Are Worthless on Wednesday May 03, 2017 @04:46AM (#14254019)
Or you could get a conductometer and measure the purity yourself.
More or less immediately, as far as I can remember. I used polarizers from an old LCD display.
I guess it would work with one filter as well.
I once made glasses that made me see polarization. It made plant leaves look beautiful.

There's a HD version on Steam.
Re:Stop Fabricating Travel Security Advice on Tuesday February 28, 2017 @09:16AM (#13753863)
It's only meant to intimidate people. There is no way it could serve a real security purpose.
The line between microdosing and tripping balls is thinner than many people realize.
Re:Bees can train each other to use tools on Saturday February 25, 2017 @05:27AM (#13730955)
I think the more important question is, if even insects can be this smart with their tiny brains, what the hell are our huge brains for?
Re:Why Is Cancer More Common in Men? on Wednesday February 22, 2017 @02:48PM (#13708591)
Why? It seems to be the only theory that actually fits the evidence, unlike SENS and similar nonsense.

They have more iron in their bodies.
Re:Copper is key in burning fat on Saturday February 04, 2017 @03:41AM (#13566257)
That's nonsense. Please get tested by a real doctor.
Re:Copper is key in burning fat on Saturday February 04, 2017 @03:37AM (#13566249)
As far as my knowledge goes, that seems to be completely made up.
Re:Copper is key in burning fat on Friday February 03, 2017 @08:13PM (#13564953)
Those are the signs of deficiency, not overdose. What made you think you suffered from copper overload?
Re:Copper is key in burning fat on Friday February 03, 2017 @08:00PM (#13564871)
Nonsense. It only happens after prolonged massive intakes (A man who intentionally took 60mg/day for a year and 30mg for several years before that is one of the few examples found in literature.) and the signs are liver and kidney failure. It's completely unrealistic you could get that much from anything resembling normal food, vegan or otherwise.
Re:Copper is key in burning fat on Friday February 03, 2017 @07:54PM (#13564842)
Getting too much copper is virtually impossible unless you have a rare genetic disorder. The excess copper is excreted in bile. The defficiency on the other hand is widespread, it doesn't show in the blood tests and the symptoms are both vague and insidious. (Chiefly a constant lack of energy, brain fog and incurable anemia)
This "project" specifically. It conflates ɾ and t and it ignores most non-english IPA letters.
It only works for English. Any other language seems to get mangled into English-like syllables.

How does hallucinating provide survival advantage?
Re:A Mysterious Virus That Could Cause Obesity on Wednesday December 28, 2016 @10:39AM (#13271145)
It did? The US may be the only first world country in the top 20 obese countries.
Re:Is Sugar Killing Us? on Monday December 12, 2016 @05:19PM (#13162516)
What happened when you tried to eat more sugar?
Re:Is Sugar Killing Us? on Monday December 12, 2016 @04:25PM (#13162055)
I didn't ask you to repeat yourself, I asked for evidence confirming what you said.
Re:Is Sugar Killing Us? on Monday December 12, 2016 @03:45PM (#13161738)
So what is the evidence for fructose being bad for us?
Re:Is Sugar Killing Us? on Monday December 12, 2016 @03:28PM (#13161623)
How many obese people follow the guidelines?
Re:Is Sugar Killing Us? on Monday December 12, 2016 @03:27PM (#13161615)
Why are you lying like that? Are you trying to hurt people?
Re:Is Sugar Killing Us? on Monday December 12, 2016 @03:25PM (#13161597)
Stop spreading misinformation. 65% is well within historical norms. People commonly ate that much or more, oils and meat used to be expensive.
Re:Is Sugar Killing Us? on Monday December 12, 2016 @01:47PM (#13160625)
"the body can synthesize glucose" is a horribly misleading statement. The body can create glucose only by destroying protein and the amount it can create is limited by the buildup of toxic waste the process leaves behind. It's absolutely not the same thing as the body synthesizing vitamin A from carotene. You will be much better off eating carbohydrates, and 45% may be still too little.
Re:Is Sugar Killing Us? on Monday December 12, 2016 @01:18PM (#13160324)
You are basically guarranteeed to get a false negative A1C on keto.
How much better do you think it could get with JPEGs encoded with Lepton in mind?
