Yeah. Look at https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=50321605 — what the hell is this? Why do people click on random links allegedly belonging to no name projects? What are these projects about? Fascinating.

Yes, but it's still nice to have a good UI. HN has many things that one can find inconvenient.

The author wrote so much, but it has so little substance. LLMs can provide valuable feedback, but they can also produce garbage. Given that the author didn't show any bad outputs and built their message around "I don't like reading it", it sounds like a personal problem that should have stayed in their head.

There is already a catch-all option if you don't need exhaustiveness in some part of your code.

It depends on the context. If you're a PC user and you got a Mac at your new job, there are likely more important things to learn.

We aren't talking about a choice between running a mainstream setup or a niche setup though. There is much more to this choice—I'm sure you understand what I mean. I don't want to dive into this discussion, I just want to highlight that it isn't as simple as you suggested.

In many countries Meta platforms—Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApps—are primary means of communication. If you want to find interesting events happening this weekend, you need to be on Facebook. In this regard, Google and Apple are much easier to leave because they offer personalised services, and you can always move your email and photos elsewhere. But you cannot move other people from Facebook or Instagram.

This article is an example of a rather poor piece of writing. You can't blame people for skimming through it.
Re:Why Sal Khan't: On Learning by Making but Teaching by Telling

I agree with you. It's just an attention bite as nobody would care about this article if it wasn't focused on something as big and popular as Khan Academy. It's clear that the author has never used it as a place to learn something.

Exactly. There are common coding tasks that these models can adequately do. They are absolute trash for anything that isn't coding. And even with coding, they are so, so far behind frontier models.

That's a big time investment for many people though. The one they—or rather their employers—cannot really afford.

It's easier to use for most people. I don't think CLI and GUI programs target the same audience.
Re:Go is an ideal language for AI-assisted software engineering

And by that point a program written in go has been deployed and making money for months. These are two wildly different languages, people should stop comparing them as if they're targetting the same niche. Checks and protections that rust has aren't necessary in most cases, but increase development and maintenance time.

Although this market is relatively small.

Nah. Microsoft has better means to sell Windows.
