Yeah, i remember when i did something similar in Visual Basic when i was 14..
Yes. He (and other people) generated Rainbow Tables for the cracking of A5/1 and published them via Bittorrent. His mainpoint was that tapping GSM convos is not only feasible, but reasonably feasible even for private persons.

Also, imo, the main problem with the GSM or mobile security schemes is, that they seem to have been _deliberatly_ weakened and/or use ciphers that were known to be insecure.

This news just reaffirms what a lot of people have been suspecting all along.

"Thanks for your report. I will read it later."

Done.

Work with Mono and report back..
Re:Show HN: A small (less than 2 kb) CSS framework on Thursday December 26, 2013 @06:40AM (#6965998)

Re:How I Set Up My Home Network – NAS and Raspberry Pi on Thursday November 28, 2013 @05:51PM (#6816911)
My pi shipped with a plastic, semi-transparent box, if you don't mind the pink colour, you can turn it into a makeshift case.

Like that is going to happen.

Re:Show HN: Gmail.js – JavaScript API for Gmail on Wednesday November 27, 2013 @05:14PM (#6811522)
AFAIK Gmail's implementation of IMAP is kind of borked and stuff like the "smart" categorization (e.g. social networks, notifications, etc) doesn't reflect into imap folders (or RSS their RSS feeds, for that matter). Labels do, though, with a workaround.
Re:Ask HN: Where am I lacking with my script sales? on Wednesday November 27, 2013 @08:07AM (#6807818)
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/teemya/r0ash.com/demo/reform/source/lib/recaptchalib.php on line 254

clicking features, then reCaptcha.

More in general: There is not a single line of text explaining (on the demo page) why i should buy this.

Speculative: I think there are typo3 extensions / wordpress plugins doing the same stuff. Maybe you should branch out to these.

> I don't regret the time I spent there, and I still help put out fires from time to time

What the...? Why would you do that?

Re:Bitcoin Companies and Entrepreneurs Can't Get Bank Accounts on Saturday November 16, 2013 @05:14AM (#6744335)
"What consumers are not told is that the Dinars can be redeemed only in Iraq, as most of the established currency exchange houses and banking institutions cannot convert the Dinar to US dollars. Since no exchange exists for the Iraqi Dinar, dealers can charge whatever they want to sell and buy back the Dinars. "

So, it's not "a lot of scam", it's ALL scam.

Re:FixYT on Friday November 15, 2013 @08:53PM (#6743227)
YT could disappear, but you'd have to pour a _lot_ of money into it.
Re:Snapchat is Intrinsically Worthless on Monday November 04, 2013 @09:11PM (#6672748)
This just dances around the issue that snapchat is probably used to take lots of nude pictures. Yes, you can take a screenshot, i bet loads of people don't know / trust the other party to not to take one.
Re:Php.net detected as a malware host by Google Safe Browsing on Thursday October 24, 2013 @07:15AM (#6604543)

That really depends on what you're doing.

Re:Help me figure out how I lost this bet to an engineer on Wednesday September 11, 2013 @06:37PM (#6370622)
No, it's not just you. It's spectacularly creepy, lacking reflection _and_ a thinly disguised ad for their site/product ("look, our engineers are fucking evil geniuses! Amazing."). And of course, like others already have said, HN fell for it.

This stuff should worry you, not be lauded as some kind of amazing engineering feat. 4chan does this all the time and they call it doxxing.
