>Hell technically it's not a government unless it's running a state which is where a lot of this stems from.

Where do you get that idea?

Yes of course they are.
“ Ukraine Loses Starlink Access as Musk Says Zelenskiy Went “Too Far” | SpaceX suddenly throttled access to Starlink with no warning, Ukraine says.”

Fucking disgusting.

Most railways aren’t owned by fascist financiers. Probably.
It looks fine to me.

Re:More than 100k people in Japan are now aged 100 or older on Friday September 18, 2026 @11:08PM (#49762920)
Trivial? Sounds like bootlicker-talk.

Top 5 billionaires ≈ bottom 40% of Americans — roughly 135 million people.

(The bottom quarter of households have essentially zero or negative net worth, so most of that $2.2T sits with people in the 25th–40th percentile range. It's an estimate — the Fed doesn't publish fine-grained slices — but 5 people vs ~135 million is about where it evens out.)

I like the idea of this, but PHP is such an ugly language.

Blackberry is a sustainable business?
Re:EU chief opens door for Canada to become 'associate member' on Wednesday September 16, 2026 @07:14AM (#49724873)
This is just wrong. The US prioritizes billionaires over entrepreneurs.
Re:EU chief opens door for Canada to become 'associate member' on Wednesday September 16, 2026 @07:12AM (#49724846)
Because the US is likely to ally with Russia over Poland.

Yes. Yes. Yes.
Re:How Railroad Crossings Work (2024) on Thursday September 03, 2026 @10:23PM (#49559763)
Almost 10 years, split between apprentice, journeyman, supervisor, project manager.

It’s an amazing job when young and you can see lots of remote beautiful locations. Very high divorce rate…

Moved to Nuclear which is similar in that small mistakes can have catastrophic consequences. Nuclear has more layers of redundancy (technical and administrative). Railway has half the people doing 1.5 times the work as it did 30 years ago - nice profits though, Things changed when Hunter Harrison gutted/streamlined. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E._Hunter_Harrison

Re:How Railroad Crossings Work (2024) on Thursday September 03, 2026 @10:17PM (#49559725)
Canada

Same system as US. Similar operating rules. Other countries have different rules including track gauges (width). Canada’s:

https://tc.canada.ca/en/rail-transportation/rules/2022-2023/...

“Fun” fact, the rules were metaphorically written and blood, and grew to include things like “don’t microwave your clothes to dry them”.

Everyone who had worked in the rail industry (especially conductors and engineers) for more than a few years has horrible stories. PTSD is real. Suited by train is fucking selfish and disgusting.
