I'm frustrated with these "galactic algorithm frustration" posts

big constants are not new. We all had a laugh when matrix mul exponent went from [2.3728]639 to [2.3728]596

Even more than that - reading GMP manual and seeing all the "more efficient, but bigger constant" algorithms take over each other as the size grows cause *awe*

so this "sudden" discovery that theory is different from practice has been bloody obvious for everyone. I'm more inclined to say "if you want to went frustration at Ai - do that, stop showing your ignorance"

---

the main benefit for these results isn't to show what's possible - it's to show what's *not impossible*

---

also I just saw that this is the same author that wrote "Did I read this paper? Of course not. No one at OpenAI read this paper either, so why should I?"

so he expects same level of discussion he deserves himself - completely negligible

you're describing open weights, not open source

I heard that couple decades ago there was a product for "socket internet" - you plugged it into normal wall socket, and it communicated through power wires

lol, looks like someone haven't learned from the early internet of the 90s

people talk on internet *because* going out in real life is not a preferable option

and any attempt to avoid government oversight simply hits a wall of being illegal

see monero getting outlawed by EU countries

> you’re being a little overly critical for an early stage project

no, I'm exactly critical *because* it is early-stage

"early-stage OSes" are dime a dozen, just as ideas without code they are worth nothing.

and couple lines later

I'm not gonna be angry at false advertising, but OS attempts only become appropriate to discuss once you made drivers and actually ran stuff on physical hardware

Before that point it's just one of the many dozens and dozens other half-efforted attempts at OS that have been done over and over to death by now

wdym? "unless" is literally "while not", no come-from mechanics
I wonder if instead of outright masking bad tokens, you could've done the training while slowly increasing negative weights on those

"through *googling* " might've been a better phrasing

very bad performance :/

why would outer scope have more tabulation?
I don't think being able to sell secrets on eBay is a bad thing. The point of secret classification isn't to restrict trusted people - but to restrict *unathorized* access. And highest person in chain of command naturally has full authority to do as he sees the situation fit

What I don't understand how it's allowed is that money earned from such ebay sell would go to private pocket instead of the government

I feel like that latter point isn't accentuated enough

I'm glad you counted Spain and France as "third world or dictatorships"
how do I zoom? there's no + and - buttons and I don't see people icons
