NoCulturalFit
I'm sorta the same..
I know people my age (30~) who can't get a foot in because they don't fit in with the hipster-frames-hoovering-art-director types who apart from being well connected founders also part time as diversity activists.
I thought it was pretty much known that the concept of SW-shortage was a big lie?
I am pretty sure you need to read up. I grew up in a muslim ghetto. My parents were both born in muslim countries.
As a math guy I am sure you can figure out that any percentage of 1.6 billion sure is a large chunk of people.
I don't want to live near islamists and my mother doesn't want to be called a whore in arabic for not wearing hijab - yeah my mum speaks Arabic.
You can't refrain from the fact that majority of the refugees are islamists in a sense that they deem apostasy as a crime and homosexuality punishable by death.
I guess it's for the better. Flipping burgers is probably in my future, and I am pretty happy with it.
So apart from learning Entity Component Systems 101, you have to take Gender Agnostic Components 101.
Github.com, create a library, write some tests, add documentation and let each employe valuate you individually to what they need the most.
You still won't avoid the dreaded cultural fit shit though.. No degree or Github portfolio will ever help with that.
Living on savings for now, which runs out in a couple of weeks.
I've been working on that more than my startup recently.
We could live on $20k annually for at least 4 years. Now I am trying to figure out a SaaS that could generate that within a couple of months. I don't mind fighting with price even though that's what you're not supposed to do.
Where was Gawker and The Guardian when we needed them!
Jokes aside, there is something like this today http://deepfreeze.it but it's run by "bigots, homophobes, sexists and obviously racists".
With that fucked up world-view Vivek Wadhwa is a misogynist woman hater suddenly out of the blue.
You need to take a step back and realise that there might be some different views and solutions to the same problems instead of painting PEOPLE as problems.
Are there any CSS-frameworks that have been converted to JS but not are not their own components yet? It's easy to find React-Bootstrap but that comes with ready made components, I am looking for styling that's purely in JS so I can make my own components.
Also would a route-component be considered logic or presentation, or maybe it is its own thing and they forgot to mention it?
It's close to impossible to get a remote job by the sheer amount of people wanting them. And no place will let you negotiate less salary for a job. :-/
I find myself as the same place as the the dev who wrote this. I don't even need a "dev-salary", we could live on the 44k a month and I would be happy with that as long as it's remote. Could go less, but it has to be a job that exists in ~5 years.

The poorer ones never make it, the one who needs your help abroad. Sweden spends more money on hostels in Sweden than they donate to Syria. In fact, they have started to take the money they were supposed to donate to Syria and pay them out here instead to "entrepreneurs" and in welfare (since it's expensive to live in Sweden)
If it's sluggish, buggy and anything else that the Engineers usually deal with, it doesn't matter how Material their design is.
The design can be iterated on and experimented with as long as you can ship. A psd isn't shipping.
I can actually build and design it. If the design isn't satisfactory, I can.... wait for it.. actually iterate on it.
In fact, if I had another engineer instead of a photoshop-monkey we could iterate twice as fast on either device or browser.
