Good idea, though it's failing to load when you point to another city than the one that was loaded automatically

Re:Developer account removed by Apple – $108,878 frozen on Thursday November 23, 2023 @12:21PM (#38395068)
In this case, where does this money goes? Is it refunded to the people who bought the apps or is it litterally stolen by Apple?
Re:Bangladesh removed lead from turmeric spice on Monday November 13, 2023 @08:11AM (#38249720)
We're having similar problem with Nitrite salts in Ham, not as deadly though. It shows how we're willing to make things look better just to sell more and at the detriment of health.
Re:Wikipedia Became the Last Good Place on the Internet on Wednesday November 08, 2023 @08:31AM (#38190038)
It would be good if Wikipedia could stay neutral and not biased. It's not as good as it was.
Actually they don't
Re:Anti-ageing molecule boosts fertility in ageing mice on Friday October 20, 2023 @11:47AM (#37957769)
Though, will having more Arginine, Manganese and B6 automatically trigger your own body to make spermidine? Isn't there maybe a limit when the body stops producing spermidine?
Re:Anti-ageing molecule boosts fertility in ageing mice on Wednesday October 18, 2023 @09:49AM (#37928636)
Shouldn't the patient take more B2 in that case?
Re:Nippon Television has just acquired Studio Ghibli on Thursday September 21, 2023 @09:05AM (#37597040)
> Nippon Television has just acquired Studio Ghibli, which will become a subsidiary of their company. Producer Toshio Suzuki (75y old) was looking for a successor, and proposed Goro Miyazaki, but Hayao Miyazaki (82y old) refused (and so did Goro). Nippon Television was already a long-standing partner of Ghibli ("Friday Road Show").
Re:Find my cat: open-source Cat Tracker on Monday September 18, 2023 @06:57AM (#37554582)
It's a choice you have to make.

It's the same as cigarets, you know it's toxic to you and others but still you want it regardless.

PS: I love cats and always had one until few years back but I don't want to have one to force him to stay indoor, as long as I don't have a place for it to go out I won't get any.

Re:Find my cat: open-source Cat Tracker on Friday September 15, 2023 @11:20AM (#37524403)
Indeed I guess it depends of the size of the house.

> Feral AND domestic. There are laws introduced in Australia that mandates cats to be kept indoors for this reason. I didn't know about the domestic one.

Re:Find my cat: open-source Cat Tracker on Friday September 15, 2023 @11:18AM (#37524369)
If they are strays why would you want to force them to be inside? I really don't get you.

We can have both desexing pets and letting them roam free. No need to force them to live inside.

Re:Find my cat: open-source Cat Tracker on Friday September 15, 2023 @09:23AM (#37522561)
Do you have a pet or a slave pet?
Re:Find my cat: open-source Cat Tracker on Friday September 15, 2023 @09:23AM (#37522556)
Just don't get a cat?
Re:Find my cat: open-source Cat Tracker on Friday September 15, 2023 @09:21AM (#37522532)
You're the one who decide to take an animal as a pet, knowing all the damage it can do to the environment. If you're fine with it then that's ok for you but you can't force your pet to be in prison because you don't want it to kill other species, if that's the case then you should not consider getting one in the first place.

Would you want to live in a cage your whole life? Then why do you want to do it to others? Never heard of the Golden Rule: "Don't do to others what you wouldn't want them to do to you"?

I understand your point of view, I share it, cats are deadly to many smaller species that's why if you're against that then you shouldn't get a cat at all.

PS: Australia's problem is about the Feral cats and they are making traps in the wild to poison their skin thanks to some box trap and AI.

What don't you do the same, stay indoor, humans too are highly destructive to fauna, they can get injured, die, breed, pick up parasites, or catch communicable diseases that may be incurable.

All animals should be free, if you can't provide freedom to your animals then you should not have any.

Re:Man Spends Entire Career Mastering Crappy Codebase on Thursday August 03, 2023 @08:40AM (#36985066)
Einstein once said "Once you stop learning, you start dying". I feel like in IT it's the case for most what people are thinking. In my case I have been switching tech because I felt I wasn't learning anything new or simply because it's was dying. I feel like these guys like him are probably too confortable in their confort zone or too lazy to learn anything new (the less you do the less you've got motivation + you can't teach old dog new tricks).
Re:When did people stop being drunk all the time? on Wednesday July 26, 2023 @03:43AM (#36874291)
It also depends of the region you live in. In Brittany for example people drunk a lot of watery wine and sweet cider but they drunk it in quantity for some of them. You canread in Jean-Marie Deguinet's "Mémoires d'un paysan bas breton" (19th centuary) that people were drinking a lot of cider and particulary his wife who was a cider Alcoholic.

The gnole as you speak is more something that became popular amongst the Poilu during the first world war and after, I'm not sure if there was loads of people drinking it in the past but it feels like the spirits became more popular by the end of the 20th centuary.

Re: on Friday June 23, 2023 @02:40PM (#36450655)
Yeah I meant more like "unbiaised comments" and not black and white comments complaining that one is responsible of everything.
Re: on Friday June 23, 2023 @02:37PM (#36450629)
I didn't mean him to be neutral in his position but in what he is writing. You can clearly see he is biaised and is anti-police. Like the police is responsible of everything and that people are peaceful protesters while it's not truth, it's not black and white and he is a fool to believe that.

> Violence. Is. Caused. By. The. Police. None of these, not a single one of these items were used until the police started indiscriminately tear gassing thousands of protesters, the vast majority of them peaceful. Five thousand grenades and weapons classified as war weapons used on protesters.

It's obvious violence must have existed from both side. It's a bit obvious you're from the far left, just be neutral.

Re:Legend of Zelda game sells 10M copies in three days on Thursday May 18, 2023 @12:41PM (#35990562)
I bought the switch for the first Zelda, great game that got me back into console games. I don't really see any other game worth playing on Switch but it was great. You can always buy it second handed and sell it once you're done.
Taken from youtube comments: > For anyone wondering why the FAA yanked his license.

1) attached multiple cameras to the craft (not illegal but suspect)

2) Wearing a sports parachute (there uncomfortable as hell and he never wore any chute on any other flight)

3) opened the side door before claiming any engine failure.

4) made no attempt to restart engine

5) made no attempt to find a safe landing spot even though there were multiple landing areas in easy gliding distance

6) jumped out of the plan with a selfie stick which is not normal behaviour during a crisis .

7) Made his way to the wreck and took all the cameras

8) had the wreck disposed of before contact the authorities .

9) made no attempt to communicate on emergency frequency

None of which deals with the fact he had fire extinguishers strapped to his legs since that not technically illegal or the deliberate crashing of his plane into national reserve.

Re:Mushrooms and sunlight for making Vitamin D supplement on Thursday May 11, 2023 @02:24PM (#35906183)
Yes it looks like what I read in the past was wrong and you are right, it's about the angle of how the sunlight passes the atmosphere. Also about the cholesterol oil your skin produce and what you said.
Re:Mushrooms and sunlight for making Vitamin D supplement on Thursday May 11, 2023 @02:20PM (#35906121)
I'm not sure where I read that but it turns out to be wrong, after reading a bit it seems noon is a good time but is also the most dangerous time due of the high amount amount of UVB.
