Politics have always been a part of HN, if it was slightly historical, which it is in this case. Just search for "Trump" on this page.
Greetings from Europe: This gives hope. Now don't screw it up, you are not done yet!
Maybe it's British English? I would use the wording like that. But I'm German. However, a "benannte Animationssequenz" is a perfectly valid construct in German, and doesn't sound weird at all given the context.
> I still don't know what a valid and an invalid feeling is supposed to mean.
Maybe that’s a topic you could dive in deeper on your own terms, then? And stay curious!
I don't have an issue with a different accent, but vocal fry sounds just outright weird to me. Maybe because I'm not a native speaker, but it's giving me snobbish, crow-like vibes. I don't like it, and I don't really understand why people aim for it. A deep voice is not vocal fry. Sam Elliot has a nice deep voice. Toni Braxton has a nice deep voice. Vocal fry is none of that. It's the tramp stamp of voice.
> most people just have a very hard time declaring “this person is worth 0 additional seconds of my time” and actually following through.
I think that's what "setting boundaries" is about: Standing your own ground, and decide: "Not worth my time and energy.", yet still believe in the good in people. I think even bad people have something good in them. It's just not healthy to figure it out for me, once the manipulative (or bad) habits have surfaced.
So AI is awesome for narcissists then, right?
They do that on iOS. Integrates quite well.
Painfully? I love the stimulation of my brain to learn something new. It didn’t really hurt.
I don’t think they will. There is too much money in it now.
Of course, because there was a HOA that became financially so big (on paper), that it secured 80% of the shovel supply for the next two years. Now everyone is fighting over the remaining 20%.
I went the obvious path, back in the days.
> I wasn’t sure how to find out what an “LI????77” was […]. I would be interested to learn non-LLM ways to figure this out though. There must be a way.
Back in my days I simply googled my way through the nomenclature of batteries. I feel pretty old, somehow.
Care to elaborate? What do you mean by "end of all human labor"? How would a society without the need for human labor look like?
I recently read a comment that stated that, as democracy clearly does not work, it should be replaced with technocracy.
I'm amazed by the ignorance some people carry around.
Yeah, that's the channel! Thank you for the location. There are now some more channel that stream live, but what I liked about this channel the most is that it also transmitted live audio.[0] I always thought about repurposing an old Raspi and a picture-frame style hdmi monitor to let it run on, like a window to another world.
[0]: This one is doing it, too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLQhbRGv5qU
For a long time, there was a livestream on Youtube that showed a part of Tokyo. Not sure which part, but there was a highway and railroad. And it was somehow soothing to me, because if it was night here, the sun would rise there. I always imagined myself there. I miss this stream.
> EU open-border immigration policies should be imposed on Canadians
Not sure what's meant by that... People won't start swimming over the atlantic ocean. And flights to Canada aren't really cheap, by any means.
Sounds a bit like dealing with bad KPIs as a human worker.
This would be one way to interpret it. Another way would be: "If the model is EOL, the potential attack surface gets lower, because you cannot buy it any longer and the amount of devices in use will reduce over time."
On a different note: Are you, in any way, affiliated with LG? You read to me as someone who is "unhappy" with the findings.
> The users in question are posting on a public forum under a username of their choosing, and it's still an invasion of privacy to read those posts and play pretend matchmaker?
Yes it is. There is an aggregation happening, that is not available on Hacker News per se. To make this aggregation easily available to anyone else is some kind of privacy invasion. To make matters worse, usernames can be traced back to IRL individuals, depending on the information they put into their "About" page on Hacker News. So yes, this is indeed an issue.
Fair enough. But then, how should I enjoy the software, if the documentation to its' usage is buried beyond a whole paragraph? To be clear, I do not judge the usage of AI per se. But you can instruct AI to write a clear manual. It just takes time. :)
Interestingly enough,
https://fastpotify.rocks/winamp/ shows what I dislike about LLM-generated text: From "The buttons do what they say [...]" to "[...] a different format and are not supported" is just a huge wall of text without any visual guidance.
It's as if the person writing these lines didn't care about the result. One could argue that people not caring about written documentation isn't anything new, but in the past, these documentations also had little text. So they were easier to digest. Now, we get great walls of text that are hard to read. I cannot say that I like that.
Not sure I understand you correctly, but in the "United States Counterterrorism Strategy 2026", they are explicitly called out as being domestic:
> Additionally, we recognize that a new type of domestic terrorism has emerged, driven by violent extremists who have adopted ideologies antithetical to freedom
and the American way of life.

> Currently we face three major types of terror groups:
> • Narcoterrorists and Transnational Gangs
> • Legacy Islamist Terrorists
> • Violent Left-Wing Extremists, including Anarchists and Anti-Fascist
It's wild that we've hit a point where the existence of Right-Wing Extremists is simply denied.
From 2020:
> First, right-wing attacks and plots accounted for the majority of all terrorist incidents in the United States since 1994. In particular, they made up a large percentage of incidents in the 1990s and 2010s. Second, the total number of right-wing attacks and plots has grown substantially during the past six years.

Well, to be fair, even for many customers 'instant' transfers are new. Even if their bank offers them for months now. Some folks still consider 'online banking' a novelty.
As a grown-up, adult man with absolutely no inappropriate thoughts, I was expecting
https://69labs.vip/ to be.. something else.
You can’t blame them, though. I live in the industry for over 25 years now, and when 5 Ghz wifi got introduced, and started to live alongside 2.4 Ghz with all the different protocols, I was like: "Nah. Screw it." I honestly have no idea what the current hot stuff in terms of wifi is.^^
> But isn't that "burden" on others always going to be there, whether you or AI wrote it? That's what communicating is...
From my experience, AI tends to sugarcoat and be very verbose in its' responses. Theses two combined mean I need to peel away a lot of text before I can get to the "real" point as a reader.
So while I could use AI to craft a response, and then rework it to be more concise, I wonder if it wouldn't be faster (and more rewarding) to simply type it myself.
Next to the closed indicator at the top is a drop-down, which reads "Fixed by: Piebald-AI/tweakcc #459".
It also reads "Remaining: #58639 #29385"
