I don't know. You can't expect people to consume media if they are boring, regardless of AI.

CSS shouldn't have logic it. But layout needs logic. The next step should be to ditch CSS altogether and implement it as a DSL in JavaScript.

TrueNAS with file system folders. I don't consume media that much so I get away with it. The only media I need to consume remotely is music, which I have gonic for.

I don't care one bit that Mathematicians wasted years of progress or lost their craft over this. The problem is that models that can do this are locked behind corporate walls.

I self-host about 30 services. I exclusively pick software that's written either in C++, Rust, or Go. If I can't find one I write my own in C++.

> The passkeys most people use are synced passkeys, stored in iCloud Keychain, Google Password Manager, 1Password, Bitwarden or whatever other software of your choosing
Sorry but this is the whole problem with passkey: you are forced to rely on a 3rd party to take care of your credientials, on their computers, with their software. This is like a text book example of a trap: someone set up something that looks harmless/invisible, you walk into it, and that someone now has some leverage over you.

Re:Passkeys are a trap. Do not use them
on Monday October 12, 2026 @12:40PM (#50058996)
Honestly I don't care about any of that. From my perspective, passkey = phone + app required. That's already a red flag big enough for me to not use them. If I put on my engineer hat, another problem I see is that most services seem to not be competent enough to implement it in a non-broken way.

It's funny how the western world seems to believe every single decision in China is made by the government. You guys really give the CCP too much credit. China also has plenty of closed models just FYI. You never heard of them because they are only available to the domestic market.

At that point the US will complete its China conversion and turn on the GFW so you can't access Chinese AI services.

Unfortunately people don't usually "write", at least not in the sense this article describes.

Normal people don't write blog posts, research reports (because normal people don't do research), or novel. They also don't write "thoughtful emails"; they just write low effort normal emails.
