The concept of ‘Akhand Bharat’ dates back to the 1930s and the map is displayed prominently in the newly built Indian parliament last year. So, it is not some fringe ideology,
"The US withdrew from Afghanistan, but that is clearly Central Asia and not South Asia (unless it's defined differently in India?)."

India considers Afghanistan part of or ought to be part of India. It even has a map for it.

How are you going to monetize it? Your site has no mention of pricing.
My thoughts exactly.
The majority of them are mediocre anyway so there is no reason to hire them in the first place.
The article says there are five main castes with thousands of sub-castes. To be precise the Dalits are not considered a caste. They are outside of the Caste system and lower than the lowest of the low, the Sudras. In practice however today's Indian has seven Caste, at least normalized in Western countries such as Europe and the US. In this revised Caste system, the Whites are at the top, higher than the Brahmins and Blacks are at the bottom, lower than the Dalits. I have witnessed firsthand how a Black colleague of mine was treated by his Indian counterparts in the IT industry. It is pretty disgusting to say the least.

There is A LOT of dirty little things you don't know about India. And it is not just the usual oppression of the Dalits and Muslims. I will talk about it in due time.

"India as an entity has been dissolved and established multiples times in the history."

I found it interesting that Indians for some reason like to insist on this absurdity. There must be some benefits or advantages of making such claim.

Re:Tax raids at BBC offices in India enter second day on Wednesday February 15, 2023 @06:23PM (#34812445)
Yeah, a pillar here and a coin dug up there and you can weave a whole story. It this is true I would assume the British would learn this history from the native people in the subcontinent instead of the other way. It would be like the Europeans have never heard of the Roman Empire or Julius Caesar until they learned it from Japan.

The Maurya Empire? Yeah right. You should thank the British for the Maurya empire. The so-called Maurya Empire was cooked up by a pseudo historian by the name of James Prinsep to instill a sense of one people for political purpose. The British at the time assumed the British empire in South Asia was forever and it was hard to rule a place when the people practically hate each other historically. This Maurya Empire thing is a way for the British to create some glue for their subjects. Called it a British duplicity if you will.

Until the British arrived the subcontinent was a mishmash of thousands of fiefdoms that were at each other's throat. That looks balkanization to me.

"India is increasingly going down the slippery slope of repression..."

Increasing? India has been extremely repressive from day one. It is just that it was not sold to the West as such. Large swathe of land under Indian control is under a law that allows the state to arrest or kill anyone without due process (democracy my a$$). The repressive policies against the Muslims and the Dalits (supported by the fascist RSS) are unprecedented in the civilized world. This is why guys like Jinnah and Ambedkar were so worried when they learned that the British were going to quit the subcontinent because they knew full well that the Hindus are bullies.

Angela Saini in her book "Geek Nation: How Indian Science is Taking Over the World" bragged that India is a up and coming scientific superpower. That book was published a decade ago.
The root cause is more than attitude.
Indians software programmers are just as shoddy. The only difference is that it is much harder to see software quality than hardware quality. In hardware you can easily spot the quality by looking at the fit and finish and whether things fit together nicely. In software it's just code and the quality only manifest itself in buggy and hard to maintain software, which can be years later.
"It’s likely that similar issues will arise with new Apple suppliers in other countries too."

Not at all Apple. Move to Vietnam and you can duplicate the success you have in China. Indians are only good at talking a good talk.

The Modi document didn't touch on India's other skeletons, which is even more repulsive. I am not talking about the usual suspects such as the Caste system and oppression of the Dalits and Adivasis.
Re:India’s Government Wants Total Control of the Internet on Monday February 13, 2023 @01:33PM (#34777977)
India has A LOT of skeletons in its closet that most people, not even Indians themselves know.

Outsiders' image of India is through the narrative of the media, which has no connection to reality. The Indian government is also actively engaging in fake news dissemination. Here is a tweet from Michael Kugelman, South Asia Institute Director of The Wilson Center and writer of Foreign Policy's weekly South Asia Brief

Michael Kugelman on Twitter: "The scale and duration of the EU/UN-centered Indian disinformation campaign exposed by @DisinfoEU is staggering. Imagine how the world would be reacting if this were, say, a Russian or Chinese operation." / Twitter

You can be a tech recruiter. But then you got a lot of competition there too.
Is this your competitor?

If it is, please crush it.

Time to point fingers. Who are the contractors? Anybody know who they are?
The way I understand it is a signature is included in the binaries and when run the software will hash the binaries and the result is compared to the signature. If the two don't match the software has been tempered and the software won't run. If it is that easy to remove the signature then what is the point of signing a software? It will be like your first floor home has a steel door but the window is wide open.
"Thankfully, our digital signatures are lost in the process, so that's reassuring."

So you mean the software has been digitally signed? If it is signed how is it possible that it is cracked? Isn't even a slight modification of the binaries will render the software unusable if it is signed? I have a software that is signed digitally and the certificate private/public key is supposedly takes some hundred billion years on average to crack. So what is the point of signing a software?

If I was Richard I would have monetized SQLite. I always wonder why people (presumably) spent a lot of time on open source project and not monetize it.
