This is dead wrong. Please check your facts. 6 deaths. Many in bad shape. Most still sick. Honestly, people should be scared. Leadership is doing everything they can to prevent that.
Re:Apple approves previously rejected HKMap.live app on Friday October 04, 2019 @04:04PM (#21161395)
Not like a normal app. Not like an android phone. I will never get an iPhone until I can install whatever apps I want.
If this actually retails for 199, I will be very surprised.
Re:We should replace Facebook with personal websites on Thursday December 20, 2018 @12:58PM (#18727239)
"The way most people use Facebook is more of an RSS feed rather than a 1999 Geocities personal website."

Very true and Twitter is better for this in general. I keep a Twitter feed running at all times on 2nd monitor.

My parents pay 15k taxes on a 280k home.

Get out while you can even still sell your home.

IL is screwed. Thank god I got out 2 years ago.

Insider info, State Farm is next. Major cuts. Again IL is dead.

Thanks Chicago.

Nobody knows, the destruction of the entire planet most likely.

The earth is dying, you can see it everywhere you look if you open your eyes.

Re:Where are all the films about poor Americans? on Monday March 05, 2018 @12:41PM (#16522763)
Could not agree more! For me, its actually created a backlash to the point I hate everything about diversity.

China may win in the end because of purely this issue.

The goal of all welfare should be temporary support.

At the end of the day, its just other people paying for someone else to get free stuff.

I hope you don't work at Google!
What happens when your hardware fails or is destroyed?

Or someone just forces you to give up the info?

Re:The U.S. Can No Longer Hide from Its Deep Poverty Problem on Thursday January 25, 2018 @10:19AM (#16231323)
What does it even mean any more to be "for immigration"!

At what point do you feel the USA will have enough immigrants? It's already a nation of immigrants!

Re:Turning Soybeans into Diesel Fuel Is Costing Billions on Wednesday January 17, 2018 @02:04PM (#16170716)
Hunger is solved, in any country that is not a shit hole.
Re:Bitcoin Fall Extends to 25% as Fears of Crackdown Linger on Tuesday January 16, 2018 @06:17PM (#16163795)
BTC is still above 10K. Think about that for a while. I remember 500 like it was yesterday. This drop is nothing. Except for those poor idiots who took at loans to buy at 19K
That is all much more cost intensive. Think of a delivery guy trying to sort through all that crap. List of landmarks? What a joke.
People are joining because Tesla is scaring them into it. Musk is a dumbass, but his idea self-driving is happening now may become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Consumers LOVE it. So even having some level of driving assistance will win you more customers.

Re:Wall Street Banks Warn Downturn Is Coming on Wednesday August 23, 2017 @10:27AM (#15081768)
Whats scary is we are still basically in pump mode from the last recession. The gov will not have much power to "fix" the next one. Not to mention the major debt many states carry now such as IL.
Re:Google CEO cancels town hall due to leaks on Friday August 11, 2017 @10:50AM (#14990192)
Yes, especially when you put so much into diversity and telling people how to feel. It's a total paradox.
eBay needs to reduce seller costs and they will take over with buying it now prices. Also no tax.
We are past bubble stage with Bitcoin IMO. It has failed to become much other than a bullshit investment vehicle. People only worried about how high it can go, instead of actually using it daily.
All these BS coins are going to destroy the entire idea. Not that it will be a great loss. :)
ROFL, this guy should be in prison.
Re:Summary: $200B Broadband Scandal (2005) on Wednesday July 19, 2017 @11:51AM (#14805184)
The USA could do better, but Europe / Asia are also very different beasts from the USA in terms of geography.
You mean you didn't hold for 1 million a coin. :)
Re:China may match or beat America in AI on Thursday July 13, 2017 @02:45PM (#14763985)
Immigration is not the solution. Do you have any idea how restrictive China is on immigration?
Re:Populism and the Economics of Globalization [pdf] on Wednesday June 21, 2017 @12:50PM (#14605492)
People need to realize there is not enough for everyone. Apple just hit 1 billion iphones. Facebook is close to 2 billion. There are 7.5 billion people on earth. They all want iphones, facebook, AC, food, clean water. You can see where this is going and it's not good.

I personally think its almost made worse by the internet and people being connected, they see and feel what they are missing. Most Africans, for example, would kill to be in Europe / USA.

Re:Why Amazon is eating the world on Monday May 15, 2017 @12:35PM (#14342918)
Walmart is the way to go. I've stopped my prime a long time ago. Amazon needs to spin their video on demand stuff into a separate service, not force those costs on their prime users.
I use Robinhood daily and love it. Low level traders could care less if HFT are making a penny off them. Also you can put limit orders.......

No way I could trade the way I do and still make money if I was paying 7$ or more per trade. Crazy the industry can charge that much.

Re:Europe's Waiting Room on Sunday August 02, 2015 @04:34PM (#9992353)
You should be ashamed. Accident of birth is a crazy idea. Everyone born in Africa is just an accident? Should they all be transplanted to the EU or USA? EU is already getting close to collapse with USA not far behind. Maybe as the last lights of the west blink out forever, you will understand your ignorance.
