I thought it's not actually available to anyone? They announce huge challengers, but they don't exactly "push" them out...

Okay. The point is that, to me, the analogy does not hold at all.

To me, this analogy holds if the point of science is the recognition by peers for a discovery rather than the discovery itself. A race is a competition by its nature, whereas scientific discovery has enormous value by itself no matter who discovers it. I prefer earlier discovery rather than worry about which racer gets credit.

Re:Claude Duet

I like Muse, and OpenAI's Dot. But what will differentiate this for me is the model. I grew frustrated with Muse's lackluster model, and increasingly with OpenAI's Dot as even if it implements my asks with Astra I just have not been to happy with the output. If Claude/Opus can do better, that's all the differentiation I need.

You can export all your data from OpenAI and Anthropic. I also exported all of my Liked songs on Spotify and have a scheduled task to pull any new ones each day.

It's so private, even Siri can't do anything when you ask :D.
Re:Siri is so bad at everything

Yes! it's so darn slow, then there's a 50/50 chance it either does the thing, or does nothing at all. It's driving me a bit bonkers.

I was optimistic when I updated MacOS, iOS, and got a new series 12 watch to replace my series 8. But... it's terrible. It doesn't seem to be able to do much of what I ask, and Siri on my watch is somehow less responsive than it was on my Series 8 watch. When I talk to Siri on my watch, the Siri icon thing spins around as if it does something, then it does nothing? I don't understand.

We use this term when little kids aren't old enough to just go out and find their friends and play. E.g., 2-5 year olds definitely aren't going to be let to go wander around the street.

Give it a little time, AI (SI, whatever) has only started getting good very recently without hallucinating on everything. This year I plan to use Turbotax as a first pass and then have the then-current SOTA model review it. Next year, maybe the same, but then I'd be surprised if I ever pay Turbotax another cent after 2027.

Astra on Extra High. Knowledge work, the right answer is much more important than a fast or cheap answer. If I were to switch to Anthropic, Opus 5.5 or Fable 5.1 on high or better.

Most OpenAI and Anthropic consumers are consuming directly, not indirectly from OpenRouter. So I don't think that data means anything.

Things are or were labeled wrong... I clicked a button for "upgrade to iOS 27" but then follow up dialogue is talking about upgrading to 26.7. When supposedly I'm already running 26.7. It's very weird.

Just an FYI, despite the wording on this, my "don't train on this" checkbox never changes (I don't need to re-toggle it, or change it on every device, etc...). This post reads as if its something that needs to be done repeatedly. Also if you turn on the advanced security option, ChatGPT locks to no training and cannot even be toggled on if you wanted it to.
Re:OpenAI restores 5-hour Codex and Work limits for ChatGPT Plus users
on Tuesday August 25, 2026 @10:05AM (#49434372)
How is that the case? ChatGPT not only gives a lot of Codex/Agentic usage, once you've run out of that you still have a massive quota of Chat usage that's entirely separate. You can still use plug-ins with Github, Google Drive, etc... using the Chat usage as well.

I'm still not sure, there's a promo going on now, but generally Go gives $60 of API credit and right now it might be $120 with deepseek. But $20/month OpenAI subscription I believe gives you many hundreds of API-equivalent usage? I've heard $100/month giving many thousands API-equivalent per month.

Is it still cheaper than Luna if using an OpenAI subscription? My gut is no, but I have not done the math.

There are a ton of use-cases where the models still struggle a lot and make bad decisions, I'd much prefer they continue their acceleration for a while more.

Given how OpenAI got rid of their 5-hour limits and reset weekly limits so often, is Kimi really undercutting them on effective price?

Sure, but at those API rates it doesn't beat the subscription plans for OpenAI.

This is the weirdest thing. It's completely unclear even if I was using the app for "work" rather than "coding" why I wouldn't just use the "Codex" option. Why even bother toggling? Can Codex actually not do any of the things in "Work"?
