From a marketing standpoint, your consumers will hate AI generated product videos.
No one is required to have an answer to a problem in order to just identify that problem.
It's actually unbelievable how blatantly corrupt the united states is now.

Just beyond words.

I still lament buying a G5 PowerMac back in the day, top of the top spec, absolutely killer machine. Thousands and thousands of dollars. And it just ended up as ewaste while my freaking 486 is still chugging along.
For second hand cars, here in Australia we have a youtuber that goes by the name ReDriven, this guy Adam reviews second hand cars specifically and focuses on reliability, and what it's like to live with. He's got a mate who's a mechanic that details all the specific mechanical problems that they see with the cars.

Such an insanely useful little channel and they do amazing work.

When I first saw this photo I refused to believe it was real. This is just so otherworldly, it's fantastic.
We didn't get to where we are as a species without it.
The meat industry helps keep humans alive however, whereas the AI industry does not. I think the argument between the two needs to factor in the actual reason for the emissions.

Eating meat is ecologically unsustainable but it has an actual reason for it to exist.

As much as I flatly do not believe LLMs can have anything close to consciousness, I definitely agree that the argument of them being just a probabilistic word matching engine can also be applied to our own brains lol.

I'd presume a species capable of interstellar travel would find that fairly trivial
> Those that always saw the human as a necessary bottle-neck, and those that actively sought and enjoyed interacting with another human brain.

Yep. The problem I feel is that humanity and society evolved via human interaction over the span of tens of thousands of years. And then in the space of a decade some of the people who benefited from that development feel so comfortable in their lives that they seek to literally end that method of progression for our species.

What if hypothetically they had claimed it before us.

Ah no. Old Jerry openly declared himself a racist and supporter of genocide.

He needs to get in the bin.

Edit. And he was never funny. I also bet whoevers downvoting this is cool with when he was shagging an underaged girl.

Re:An ad-free Android TV on Tuesday October 20, 2026 @03:05AM (#50162347)
Yeah I'm just surprised that anyone is surprised.
I'm not really sure why you're trying to argue this to me, however there are some very serious risks to running a home still which shouldn't really be dismissed.
I used to love making the occasional event poster for friends and signs for local businesses as an aside to my day-to-day work. Early in my career I was in advertising and design, and still love my art.

But in the last year you just don't get these jobs anymore, due to AI. It's everywhere and I totally understand the feeling uncreative people get when they are finally given a tool that lets them create something.

What makes me depressed however, is seeing that the vast majority of people are perfectly fine with AI slop posters etc... Highlighting to me that they likely didn't actually value or appreciate the good design to begin with. A lot of people don't care about the human element to anything.

Oh look I'd wager more fires would be caused by people angle grinding in the summer (*there was a massive fire several years ago caused by this here in Perth), but I was just spitballing ideas. TBH I used to still my own liquor and think that if you're interested enough in the process to actually do it you're also probably aware of the safety aspects to it.

But also I do appreciate how many numbskulls there are out there.

Forest fires

Hay bales like to do it weeks after being rained on.
No one will fix these issues, because the issues are in fact features for those in charge of the media companies/government.
Re:Tesla Roadster on Friday October 16, 2026 @05:18AM (#50116071)
The novel thing is atmospheric compressed air RCS, but even so I’m not talking moon landings.

This feels like a delivery mechanism to drop hardware from terrestrial orbit. At least the last leg after parachutes

Found a link, I saw it on instagram initially but here's a screen recording on reddit

I swear it seems to get worse with every new update too. Maddening.

Re:Tesla Roadster on Friday October 16, 2026 @02:10AM (#50114716)
I've seen a clip that shows under the skin.

It's compressed air RCS. The compressor, regulators and a ton of hardware take up the entire space from the seats back to literally the very last inch of the car. Hard pipes run along the door frame for the forward RCS, meaning only one person (driver) can sit in it and enter from the drivers side. Huge carbon RCS tanks fill every other space.

No idea how long it would take to recharge the tanks after venting them.

There's no room for 'car' stuff in it.

Interestingly there is a big... sleeve of wizard... that extends down under the car to assist the ground effect fan. Packaging that and the RCS stuff into it is a real engineering feat.

But it didn't look to have crash structures, or any other production ready hardware.

> openly hostile to the West unlike Israel

Israel has openly and publicly threatened western politicians and citizens that don't aid their agenda however, many times. Like Russia, they have also shot down commercial airliners.

Unlike Russia, they have killed American sailors whilst directly attacking American naval assets.

Re:Tesla Roadster on Thursday October 15, 2026 @11:35PM (#50113751)
...why would you assume it would be destroyed? What even is your point?

I think you are on an entirely different page.

Re:Tesla Roadster on Thursday October 15, 2026 @10:44PM (#50113319)
You miss my point. They're demonstrating a landing system, it's just wrapped up in a car to fool the idiots that are going to pre-purchase it again so they can use that money to build more space X technology.

The car is just a façade.

Edit: And to expand on this. Owners of GM T.50' say they can't use the ground effect fan anywhere in public due to the debris it picks up and throws, and are ineffective on anything but near perfect roads. So that's not impressive to me. And the jet boosters are also ridiculous, there is not real-world application where you could use them outside of completely closed environments with no one nearby. It's a huge investment into reaction thrusters for a car that would never, ever be used - unless it was to demonstrate thruster technology for another reason.

i.e. Space X.

Re:Tesla Roadster on Thursday October 15, 2026 @09:52PM (#50112844)
I hate Tesla for their politics, broken promises, and all the drama that we are all aware and tired of hearing about. That being said, that was the coolest damn thing I've ever seen a car do.

I don't think there's any doubt in anyone's mind that it'll never make production like this, but what I see as being demonstrated is a suborbital lander/off-world ground transport concept that can work in low gravity environments etc. This will aid autonomous delivery vehicles etc to be dropped from low orbit and find their own landing sites, and then drive to location.

I wonder how many maimed kerbals are stranded around the space X facility while testing this.

> Define "hostile to users" a bit more.

They use this software to find and kill people. Which they then publicly brag about. How much more hostile do you want to be?
