Is he the first cider to be sainted.
That is interesting there must be a definite business case to go on with the moral decision.

The interesting point for me will be when websites remove specific Twitter metadata instead of Open graph.

Re:Procrastination is about managing emotions, not time on Thursday January 23, 2020 @10:24AM (#22128228)
Sad in what way, seeing someone develop an 'old way' craft and apply it? Or that it is not more intertwined in the fabric of society?
I've fainted a few times and that reboot experience was the same. It felt like the RoboCop boot sequence, you get sound and then vision that slowly returns.
Most regions have prescribed safety standards to meet, for instance the kitemark or the CE mark (http://www.safekids.co.uk/toysafetymarks.html)[http://www.sa... show an item meets the regulatory safety requirements - these aren't added by stores, they are obtained by the manufacturer so that its products can be sold in stores across Britain and Europe.

Saying that the onus should be on stores is crazy, unless you accept that a company should have exclusive rights to your product at which point it become a licensed product and would probably be branded as such.

Excuse me if I have a simplistic view of this, but wouldn't an ID card have helped Windrush citizens prove their citizenship?

To protect whistle-blowers, or other assets that require anonymity.
Oh I see there is already a version. More fool me.
This is ripe for a illustrator to touch up and apply to a 3D model.
Is this a Curb Your Enthusiasm reference?
I've been to a few pick your own farms in Staffordshire, but these have been secondary businesses to farm shops or petting zoos.

I think strawberry farms have got technology down to a point where having people (especially children) ambling around is invasive. I see a lot of polysterene covered tunnels in fields which I've seen strawberries grown in. As we rely more on technology, the more it distances us from the process.

My father had Muscular Dystrophy and enjoyed computer games that allowed him to do things he could never do. He was a particular fan of Microsoft Flight Simulator and we would spread out the big maps of airfields and plot courses and enjoy the virtual freedom of a city or country with the expansion packs.

I think if he were alive today, he'd probably have a VR headset.

Looking back I regret the times that I, in my ignorance, nagged him about still being on the computer and just gliding along the sky.

Maybe the Apple Store will be redesigned so it's actually responsive and works on mobile.
Re:Commission to revoke British .eu domains after Brexit on Thursday January 24, 2019 @05:56AM (#18987588)
They are letting Britain leave, it's happening on the 29th March. What they are being tough on is what happens after that, because Britain is currently a big economy that EU businesses have a lot of fingers in pies in.
A caloric deficit is the only way to lose weight. You can burn off the calories that you eat, if you have the time and the energy; but the most efficient way is not to eat those calories in the first place and then exercise to improve your strength, cardio-vascualar stamina and flexibility.
These are enforced on a national level though aren't they, in the UK ICO doesn't have the resources to hunt people down and are probably only going to enforce action against major players in the market as they are under the most scrutiny.

The problem comes when a nation decides to use those rules in a way that is detrimental to the populace or a service they see as troublesome.

Can confirm, put a hello world in codepen.io with some other text and JAWS skipped right past it.

Worked (as was able to submit an access request) on the latest Firefox.
God forbid somebody joined the internet or became aware of privacy issues in the past 9 years.

Well they won't have a choice soon, Hangouts is extinguishing next year.
Re:The rise of 8D Audio on YouTube on Friday November 30, 2018 @05:49AM (#18568173)
I listened to the first one by Queen, it sounded like a tinny AM radio sitting in the corner of the room.
Re:I still miss my headphone jack, and I want it back on Tuesday November 27, 2018 @05:57AM (#18541269)
I bought a new TV recently and it still has a headphone socket and no option for bluetooth.

I would find it more useful to have a Bluetooth headset for my TV than I would for my phone.

Re:Web.dev by Google on Tuesday November 13, 2018 @04:43AM (#18439804)
This, so much this.

The skew to web applications rather than websites for tooling has been very disappointin and myopic view of what a 'website' is.

It would make sense if I could give it a root URL and then a robot progressively ran tests over a month and then reported back, but one URL is a drop in a vast ocean for most of us.

I do rough accessibility testing with JAWS on my company website, before we get people in to give it a thorough going over.

I would suggest you try it yourself, and download JAWS and write out some simple Hello World and figure out the challenges you face and then get in touch with disabled programmers and advocates.

I made a very rudimentary lottery machine in JS as some practice. It is astonishing how much money you can put in and get nothing out - even if you hit the upper brackets.

This is true, you can never have enough hats and they have monetised their games to provide a (steady?) stream of income.
Re:Valve new-employee handbook (2012) [pdf] on Friday September 07, 2018 @12:42PM (#17935680)
They have had some huge successes though, Counter-Strike and Dota 2 which provide ongoing incoming alongside the store.

And they are releasing a DOTA 2 card game this year?

Re:Valve new-employee handbook (2012) [pdf] on Friday September 07, 2018 @12:40PM (#17935664)
They bought Campo Santo to work on In The Valley of the Gods, so they are still a publisher.
