Re:The $6.3B Binance Hack Was Pulled Off in Just 20 Minutes on Saturday October 31, 2026 @03:13AM (#50313922)
Plenty to film/story to tell - Binance team freaking about the operation, the users who find out funds are gone, and the thieves living it up on the stolen money.

I wonder though how much of science has similar issues, that there are hundreds of semi-promising but niche areas that require tons ton of deep analysis that would have simply cost too much to explore all areas, but now become feasible.
ah, the Koch brother's PR firm the CATO org. Brilliant spin org.
prolly bots and meta employees
Re:We Think the SpaceX IPO Is Overvalued on Monday June 08, 2026 @11:24PM (#48455964)
It's a litmus test of who understand basic physics and thermodynamics
Re:We Think the SpaceX IPO Is Overvalued on Monday June 08, 2026 @11:21PM (#48455932)
And water is wet
So what's your intelligent argument as to why SpaceX's deserves an exception? Please lay out a case that's comessurate to the gravity of such an exception
Re:War game exposed U.S. vulnerability to low-tech warfare on Wednesday May 20, 2026 @12:10PM (#48210029)
Ok. tiny might have been a stretch but Iran spends $10B a year on military compared to $900B for the US. Iran has 500 aircraft (pre conflict) vs 13,000 for US.
It's ironic that these speakers tout AI benefits but failed to use it to learn what college students are concerned about
War game is not needed. The war with Iran has already proven that a relatively tiny but sophisticated opponent can have massive asymmetric impact on USA.

Mac Mini is a stellar product...
I bet Anthropic just had marketing strategy discussions with Mythos to get the "breakthrough hacking tool!" framing.
Sounds like the story of capitalism. CEOs, VPs, and middle managers are all similarly pressured. Knowing that a few of your peers have given in to pressures must only add to the pressure. I think it's fair to conclude that capitalism erodes ethics by default
The challenge is how you prevent such features being abused by like stalkers
Re:Meta hiding $27B in debt using advanced geometry on Friday November 28, 2025 @11:47AM (#46080269)
I’m guessing Meta isn’t the only one doing this
"ChatGPT can you give me a catchy phrase I can use to sway the public discourse against Meta that puts OpenAI in the most favorable light? Also sprinkle in some alliteration if you could"
Competitors just need to lobby sufficiently to get action
Re:Show HN: Ikuyo a Travel Planning Web Application on Wednesday June 11, 2025 @10:45AM (#44248191)
What key feature are you providing that can't be easily done by a google sheet?
This. Mass Spectrometry should portably only be used to confirm/train AI vision models. Once a large enough data set has been created for a particular pathogen, incremental diagnostic cost would be effectively 0.
Thank you for pinpoints my confusion/disconnect on what lack of improvement that I was sensing. There was an improvement on pacing, and cadence, yes, but that was not the main challenge with Victors accent. Visually I'd say victor improved by at most 5% and not 50% as indicated by the visualization. In some regards it was even harder to understand than the original due to speed and cadence without improvement in core pronunciation.
The societal brain drain damage that infinite scroll has caused is definitely not overblown. These models are about to kick this problem up to the next level, when each clip is dynamically generated to maximise resonance with you.
How do you know the models are actually managing and not simply amplifying?
My bet is that free versions of models will become sponsor aligned.

His persona as being simple focus is just PR, no different than puff pieces about bill gates driving a Prius, or Warren buffet living in the first house that be bought.
Agree, very weird
"These are not serious people"
Nothing to see here. Just Another hot take from a influencer way outside their domain of expertise.
Re:Stoicism's Appeal to the Rich and Powerful (2019) on Saturday March 15, 2025 @10:27AM (#43372756)
If one was aware that the prosperity disparity is predominantly due to circumstance and if one had empathy for other fellow human beings. Then I think it would be a natural response to want to alleviate other's suffering by sharing some of their prosperity. You can call it guilt, or perhaps just empathy. The other heritable attributes can't be easily be shared.
Re:Stoicism's Appeal to the Rich and Powerful (2019) on Friday March 14, 2025 @11:43AM (#43363720)
Almost universally prosperity is gained through privilege, compounded over generations. Privilege being rules/customs/systems that favored your group over others.
I guess we really are entering this darkest timeline.
