I am confused. Roles say ' fully remote role open to people living in either Denver, CO or Boulder, CO'. In what sense is this 'fully remote'?

AIUI, case law has generally concluded that requesting videos is unnecessary and prejudicial, and therefore forbidden, whereas in-person hiring has a much stronger case for being useful for other reasons. If a company literally only ever hired people through in-person career fairs, that would probably get examined with scrutiny as well, but that's rare. I am nothing like a lawyer, though, and could be entirely wrong.

Piss off with that bullshit. He's right. Not to mention it's illegal under discrimination law.

Bet it's just the standard reason: people collaborate better in person and advance their skills worse over time when WFH.

This really ought to be included in the comment, since it excludes a large portion of potential applicants.

Glad to see you back. Signed up, and unlike when I was using TB in the early days, my resume should hopefully be the kind of thing companies are looking for.

As the previous blog post[1] was all about, they're not really expecting to scale, right? Or not that far.

Skill growth while working remotely slows and plateaus. There's plenty of evidence for this at this point, and I attribute most of the catastrophe in junior engineers at the big companies to it.

I'd rather work hybrid, getting working time at home is great, but I'm not foolish enough to cripple myself long-term by insisting on favoring short-term comfort.

Can we trust a state more?

Most likely they will be city-/county-owned, in urban areas, with private companies handling long-distance and rural areas.

Wisconsin would not have been sufficient. Neither would Wisconsin + Michigan.

Also, her victory was so overdetermined that about five things had to go wrong for her to lose. (Email investigation, flawed campaign, the last-minute Comey letter, probably Bernie making trouble for months after he was statistically eliminated but that's hard to tell, Russia intervention, bad electoral college distribution, probably some others I'm forgetting right now)

I know her personally, and she's a better statistician than you.

Also, I've independently done a lot of the same research, going to primary sources. It's correct.
