I'd imagine not having to deal with PR to your voters would make going by merit easier, not harder
their work is entirely what sysadmins did tho
to be fair SNMP is
just bad. Only redeeming feature of it is "takes little RAM to run it" (which was important when average networking device might've had only 2MB of RAM, not so in last 30 years).
The whole design where you need to get a magical list of IDs to decode the metrics and the list is not even shipped with device is entirely asinine
you assume their code is well written, while in reality the history of weird quirks and thousands upon thousands of CVE doesn't make the code underneath look well designed and written.
But yes, fact it uses a bunch of very well documented standards with multiple implementations gonna help massively
I chose to interpret it as "our codebase is that bad we need a hero"
I'd even argue AI is better for maintaining/moderninzing existing code than writing it, just because there is so much less input from developer about architecture it requires, as it has it in the code itself.
But there is pretty big risk of false positives and negatives; some "bugs" are design decisions that were not documented well/at all, and inevitably some new ones will appear when it reasoned something wrong.
They implemented NVRAM in the UEFI and then didn't decipher what the NV means in it so it is not persisted. Their stupid virtualization can't handle not 1MB-aligned disk image.
Plenty of morons there
and it wasn't what he was saying, the "nicer to use" in the context were startup IaaS alternatives
yeah remove the door locks, the thief can just break the window
azure just had a huge leak
AI really does a number on some people's brain
But if you don't care about that Gmail have spotless security record
But gmail have basically spotless security record? If you care about security, gmail is the option that basically had no security incidents in last 10 years (aside from "someone's mail password leaked from somewhere else" which is not gmail fault).
Only problem (and a big one) is just fact it is US company
I call that job SysOps - caring about systems and operation
SRE just came from the big guys calling their sysadmins SRE
now I kinda wanna shadow the usual SSH creds files with LLM read-only user, so it can rummage thru the repos all it wants but I need to do the push using my creds.
That's cute but bill for going thru even tens of log lines per second gonna be more expensive than entire rest of the infrastructure.
It's legitimate question, it's the promise they are selling and doing IPO based off those promises.
Why don't they have their super intelligence looking thru it? If company selling those promises can't even do it for themselves, this is very suspicious
Most people don't carry their entire finance in wallet tho. If someone steals my wallet and CC PIN, the most I'm out is the few thousands of limit on those, not my entire financial portfolio.
That technically true for any coin where miners are organized enough, see the ethereum fork where bad contract made wrong people lose money so they forked entire chain to get the money back
Some guy made a bunch of videos playing in chess against AI, it still cheated, tho in "I forgot how game work/where my pieces are" way
I think it is because it is easier for humans to understand what's happening.
Efficiency wise I'd imagine at least picking a leader from the start just saves initial hustle and context window
I'd imagine LLM could trivially write code that fights at least single opponent competently, and then just run it ?
It wrote scripts for fishing, should work just fine with combat
You can still have it run normal scripting for the tasks, no need to put every sword swing thru AI. The option where AI just modifies that own scripting over time is also viable
Yeah but that's agent working on godmode, not as player would
On plus side, now we're sure that AI can replace middle managers with no loss of efficiency
So it would be outplayed by a single child ?
AGI indeed
I asked question, had it re-written by someone with more permission to ask something entirely different and then someone closed it as duplicate.
Had similar thing happen to my colleague too, in both cases they were pretty deep technical questions
Stopped using that ego bubble blower page shortly after
I feel that how Epstein was suicided; they convinced him his life from now will be nightmare then just left him an opening to do it
at least he didn't use AI to write it
I think it was just to make new owners not think Bioware is making another Veilguard sized mistake of focusing on author's activism rather than just making a video game that people want.
