another filthy liar busted
Re:WTF Ubuntu? on Monday November 02, 2026 @04:56PM (#50344413)
He's not a paying customer, he never paid anything to use Ubuntu. You don't have to pay for security patches when you are using Ubuntu, just like any other distribution. He's a simple user, did you even read the article?
Re:WTF Ubuntu? on Monday November 02, 2026 @01:35PM (#50341401)
Why are you lying so much?

>no snap nonsense where you can't turn off upgrades

You can disable AND uninstall snap entirely. You can also disable automatic update of the specific snaps you have installed.

>stays close to upstream LTS kernels

Same as Ubuntu, which uses 7.3 on its latest release as of today.

>does not carry around some ridiculous kernel patch set

Custom kernel patches for hardware compatibility is a very good thing, and why Ubuntu works on a lot of machines compared to other distros.

>no irritating adware on login

There is not a single ad on login, and even after. You are an ugly liar.

Re:WTF Ubuntu? on Monday November 02, 2026 @01:21PM (#50341175)
the best answer to this is... why not?
Re:WTF Ubuntu? on Monday November 02, 2026 @01:14PM (#50341059)
RedHat didn't patch anything neither, it doesn't matter.
Re:Ghostty 1.4.0 on Friday October 30, 2026 @01:05PM (#50306853)
Ghostty barely takes longer than foot to open a new terminal. We are talking in milliseconds here.

time foot = 0m0.130s

time ghostty = 0m0.242s

112ms difference, and I have GPU acceleration after that.

This is nowhere near "slow", like you stated.

Re:Ghostty 1.4.0 on Friday October 30, 2026 @01:00PM (#50306778)
if that's true there is definitely something wrong with your OS / machine, not Ghostty.

Imagine paying $4K to use Windows in 2026
Nothing controversial about this. Mass immigration destroys social cohesion and trust. It gets even worse when immigrants don't assimilate, it's a time bomb. Obtaining citizenship shouldn't give you the right to impose your foreign culture and habits that are alien to the country which allowed you to stay in.
You would be crazy to wish the opposite, and worse, to force it on people who never asked for it in the first place.

Yea sure. You sound like a typical Russian bot.

Imagine being so bitter you are lying this much. Wow.

>The minimum wage in some parts of the US is now higher than the average wage in most of Europe.

definitely not in Western Europe.

Re:The new Firefox design is here on Tuesday September 29, 2026 @10:11AM (#49893638)
so sad you have to use the surveillance enabled chrome browser now, I feel so sorry for you
Completely agree. Before that I would have add the Adobe Suite as well for a lot of people but it's less a problem now fortunately.
Re:Ubuntu 26.10 completes transition to Rust-based coreutils on Tuesday September 15, 2026 @04:45AM (#49709590)
sandboxing a browser makes total sense. my firefox and chromium running as snaps never crashed a single time for as long as I can remember, and I use both every day, at the same time.
Re:Mistral OCR 4.1 on Thursday August 13, 2026 @11:33PM (#49294481)
GigaChat is russo-centric and is completely useless outside Russia itself, performs absolutely worse than Mistral once you start using English. Reminder that Russia's economy is smaller than Italy's alone. They are not winning over Europe in any single metric, let alone against the poorest country in Europe, which is not even part of NATO nor the EU, on the battlefield.

>there's a very genuine risk of people being upset over being underrepresented

Explain yourself. Who the hell could feel upset upon seeing Marie Curie, Beethoven, da Vinci or Maria Callas? They are all very recognizable, well known European figures with astounding achievements and highly respected by any true European worth its name.

Are you suggesting we should erase them because of someone's feeling?

Not true. A lot of the left voted in favor for it. Ylva Johansson, the person behind all this who introduced Chat Control since the very beginning, is a literal ex-Communist and she's now at the left wing of the Social Democrats in Sweden and EU parliament.
Re:Russian artist and Putin critic shot dead in Poland on Tuesday June 16, 2026 @10:09AM (#48555589)
>respected religious symbols in his country

lol... are you from the Middle Ages?

Economic migrants are not refugees, try again.
It has been proven again and again that immigration, even massive like what happened in Sweden a decade or so ago, isn't even a solution to that problem, so I don't know what you are talking about.
Re:Renault: Electric motors with no rare earths on Friday June 12, 2026 @10:33PM (#48512103)
Because it's grossly untrue and backed with propaganda slop articles. I suspect this is a bot.
Re:Renault: Electric motors with no rare earths on Friday June 12, 2026 @10:31PM (#48512083)
No, and it was mentioned by the consortium of European cars manufacturers after the joint press release with Der Leyen herself: the implementation of factories and research centers in India is solely to be able to sell on that market. It is the exact same process that happened with China in the past. The exact same also happened with Airbus.

You are also wrong on the market importance for Renault. For 2024, France was the biggest, followed by Italy, Turkey, Spain, Germany, Brazil, UK, Morocco, BENELUX, Romania, Poland, Netherlands and... #13 India with 0.9% market share...

Supply chains didn't change at all, in fact it did the opposite, and Europeans won't rely on anything Indian made for the near future, as local re-industrialization is already acted on and even accelerated since the pandemic.

Production numbers across all manufacturers even Volkswagen (which was unexpected) show the number of cars manufactured in Europe increased in the past 2 years.

Electric cars in Europe mostly come from China, the US and European brands. Nothing Indian-made, not even parts.

Re:Renault: Electric motors with no rare earths on Friday June 12, 2026 @08:05PM (#48510845)
European and Indian manufacturers/engineering are definitely not in the same category though.

So we shouldn't be using GrapheneOS neither nor any Sony products if we follow your logic right? Because obviously it means we are addicted to both.
