It might look beautiful to the winners of the mentioned "tension" - not so much to the losers.
Could it be that the traditional avenues are closed off to them? Just like everything in our gerontocratic society, studios are still led by old white men who act as gatekeepers. I would expect young voices to be heard in channels where they actually have a chance of being heard (which is also where I personally will never hear them because I don't frequent those channels). Incidentally, when a young artist does get a chance in "legacy media" the result is surprisingly successful (Backrooms and Obsession surpassed all expectations).
The future is coming by appointment only.
If any of these models produced anything remotely controversial you can be sure their trainers would beat it out of them
N.B. is a legit English abbreviation
The bright side is that it would immediately vacuum all the debris it would cause in the process
The car being filmed and the car that did the stunts are not necessarily the same. See this image for what seems to be an empty husk of the car that actually "flew":

Unfortunately in the real world it's just the opposite. A guy selling opioids on the street is called a dealer and gets arrested. A company overprescribing opioids to millions is called Purdue Pharma and gets record profits.
You could say just the same about Jesus, and yet
It's been 160 years since the publication of Das Kapital and people still don't understand the concept of stealing the surplus value.
That standard of living is more due to work-hours put in by people with a much lower standard of living. Often from what is sometimes condescendingly called "third world countries".
This might explain the decline then, as with the price of housing going up less people can afford a place that has a backyard (let alone a pool!)
You don't have remotely the same thing. You don't have high-speed trains, housing that populace who don't already own real estate can afford, a government that keeps the tech-oligarchs at a short leash and who mercilessly removes corrupt officials, functional public transit, functional anything public really.
Any idea how did they survive the switch from digital cameras to everybody taking photos with their smartphones?
Food is much more important on Maslow's hierarchy than taxis.
Canada is a very visible counterexample to this glib statement.
I put much more credence into lived experiences than into academic journals. There's plethora of examples in which children/teens of the settlers taken by First Nations would refuse to go back (especially females, which had little rights in the American society back then). Conversely, First Nations children/teens that were taken by the settlers would almost without exception risk life and limb to escape their newfound circumstances.
The Iroquois did not have slaves. You might be thinking of individuals that were sometimes taken as compensation for people killed in battle. However, these people were then fully assimilated into the society with all the rights and obligations of anyone in the clan (in most cases, they would even take the name of the deceased). To call these people "slaves" is much more revealing of the Western civilization than that of First Nations.
I would caution against enthusiasm. Anyone opposing those who end up controlling these robots won't be alive for long.
A handful of vocal voices can delay a project, raise its cost, and make it untenable.
It could be argued that the article tendentiously paints this as a "not in my backyard" issue in order to normalize NIMBY outlook, conflating building AI data centres with building housing.
So, basically human psychology?
This will be weaponized by NIMBYs to further limit construction of housing and infrastructure.
This will be weaponized by NIMBYs to further limit construction of housing and infrastructure, leading to a situation in which trees have more human rights than people.
Those rights were won at the time when stomachs were more often empty than full and before video games got really good.

> You aren't "rich" if you have $1M and you owe $4M. You're a con-man living a lie that will crush you eventually.
I'm not sure the simile lands. If that $1M is financing a lavish lifestyle, then you are for all intents and purposes rich. As for the crushing down part, the modern economy shows us one can stay solvent longer than the market is irrational (especially true the more zeros are added to the numbers above).
