If you can get iOS 16.5 to run on Android, how much more is a stretch to move it to Linux?
Silo looks interesting, I wish it supported OSX servers though but I imagine that's so fringe.
Realizing I could replace the launcher was so nice. Apps only mode was my default for a while on Android TV. We use Pleezy for our Plex client
I use Pleezy which has been a nice open source alternative to the Plex UI. The only issue we've had is that on wake, you have to press back once to do anything else. I'll eventually debug it and see if I can fix it.
I don't think they force upgrade but it looks like the fix was part of 1.43.3 and my app is on 1.43.4
Slate starts at 25k though... the SUV is at 30k. And that's without things like power windows and some basic amenities right?
I will say my experience making a chromecast custom app though has been painful. It's fine to just send media though.
I tried multiple ways, contacted their support and they just kept me trying to do the same thing over and over again. For some reason I could not register my device with my development account. Tried multiple SDKs to get it to work, just ran into the same isue.
Ha when I saw it 82% white I immediately raised an eyebrow at who is filling this out. Maybe Silicon Valley bias but that still seems aggregious
Ehhhh, people are specific about their albums. I recently used this auto tagger and it would tag a song in a strange album. Like song Ocean Avenue from Yellowcard was not from their album Yellowcard but some compilation album that I had never heard of.
I think it's justifiable to call out her contribution. She was an excellent editor without Star Wars, her work includes American Graffiti and Taxi Driver.
I consider her a part of what makes the original trilogy great but I don't think it diminishes Lucas' contribution. No one person is "what makes it great". Plus the internet loves the underdog or a a "TIL"
Yes, I assume when they choose "who to test" affiliate commission is factored in.
Are you suggesting that all retailers even boutique/smaller ones use affiliate codes regularly?
That's an interesting development. I was under the impression that outside of larger retailers, affiliate codes weren't as common.
I'm curious then why did techgearlab not choose to review the matic which is certainly a new interesting player in the robot vaccuum game. I'll have to reach out!
I imagine they only review places that will give them affiliate points. I was curious if they tested the mattic in the robot vacuums category and they didn’t.
The ability to change font styles from the keyboarding using / is a nice touch, I wish Apple notes feature had that versus having to memorize a ton of keyboard shortcuts to change different styles.
It seems odd that they want you to pay for transit with your visa. That excludes a lot of travelers who might have passes on their transit cards. Less common in the Bay since all our transit providers are different but I used to pay monthly for the Muni + Local BART pass all the time when I lived in SF.
I mean it does save the public transit utility a lot of money in transaction fees so I'm happy to deal with it for that. But the main benefit is pre-tax transit benefits if your company offers it. It can go into a clipper card easily.
The NL and other transbay buses are so fantastic. They do get stuck in bridge traffic though.
I don’t think that’s true though in all cases. Sometimes PE just offers more money passing the debt into the company they acquire. But smaller players would still take control.
Ha I also got suspected of this but I actually just read the books. Three musketeers and shogun was particularly lots of points as well as the Harry Potter books.
I had so many points that even though I stopped reading books on the list in 6th (I got into manga). I still placed 1st in my school until the last semester of 8th because of my point lead.
Windows prompting her about Bluetooth for the pass key threw me too. I thought for sure she had clicked the wrong thing before I realized that somehow her widows pass key requires communicating to some device? Maybe her phone? No idea
It should be but haven’t checked her apple vault. I checked Google password manager and her windows password manager and there nothing in either. She might have used her phone and it’s in her iOS vault which I’ll check next. But this is what makes this entire passkey thing a mess. She’s 75, she didn’t do this on purpose and the ecosystem is just a mess
My MIL setup a passkey accidentally on her Google account and now has no idea where it is. Removing it now requires her password which she’s also forgotten. But now for some reason on Google I can’t initiate any type of forgot your password flow because of how Google sets up things and I have zero clue where she stored the passkey.
Has any country really reversed the diminishing fertility rate with industrialization without religious zealotry? I honestly don’t think money is the factor here. Yes it matters but $40k is nothing. That covers maybe a year or two of daycare in the states. It needs to be a cultural change but not sure what would reverse it.
Or we set a max age of the population where you off yourself. It’s the plot of Half a Life in Star Trek TNG
How did you generate the images for all the routines? I’ve been wanting to really build something like but for games that you can play with your newborn
I think you’re out of luck. If Apple can’t sell the mini I don’t know who will enter the market.
Most people don't care about that though. My wife doesn't care about browser independence. If Ladybird wants to more than just a pet project for some tech companies it needs a sell. Something that makes it better than Chrome.
What’s the real selling point? Yeah non profit but is it gonna be faster and better than WebKit? The reason I switched to chrome a long time ago was tab isolation, how much faster it was than Firefox, and built it better developer tools. What’s ladybug got going for it?
Will they finally integrate automated recording of interactions? It’s such a pain to record everything which is why I never used it
Wouldn’t they also stop AirPods from working?
What makes you think Spotify is killing it? I know they aren't supporting FLAC but otherwise I don't think they're actively trying to stop it as opposed to not really caring if they support it (which is more "We don't care" as opposed to "We have to stop this")
