Sorry I wasn't very clear, but I can't find the old version of the web-site by Zed Shaw. It was a free tutorial and it sounds like it was in the same format that the OP was looking for. I can find the current web-site for the paid course and book.
Are you implying there is an easy way to learn Vim? :)

I remember the "Learn Python the Hard Way" web-site, but I'm having trouble even finding that. It looks like there is a book and a course instead. I wonder if the web-site version of these courses were eventually phased out?

This might be a good alternative:

Re:Stanford, Harvard data science no more on Wednesday April 26, 2023 @10:20AM (#35714068)
I think it makes sense for them to emphasize a strong understanding of the fundamentals. It will help those students who later want to go into data science as well.
Re:What I learned unsubscribing from 22 newspapers on Wednesday April 26, 2023 @09:56AM (#35713704)
It's tough because everything is a subscription now. In the early days of steaming products like Netflix was great because you had access to so much for a small price. Now subscriptions services are so granular so you really have to pick and choose.
I have the same experience with a Billy. It's much more study and solid feeling than the other solid wood shelves I've bought from IKEA.

Apparently it's taken from panel data.

This is done with clinical trials (or at least it's recommended). Many researchers register their study at https://clinicaltrials.gov/ before data collection starts. I'm not sure if something similar exists for lab based research.
The few times I've been to a Comcast store in person have been surprisingly helpful and pleasant. I'm sure it depends on the location, but it was a much better experience than calling/online.
Something like Kahn Academy (https://www.khanacademy.org/)?

It's a shame how many people didn't get to experience the Advance Wars series since they were only released on the GBA/DS. I think a Switch version would do really well.
Re:The Market for Discontinued Photographic Film on Monday August 17, 2020 @12:30PM (#24188779)
Part of me knows shooting with film is ridiculous in 2020.

It's expensive, you don't get immediate feedback, old film cameras can often have light leaks, etc... But there is something magical about holding and shooting a film camera. You physically load the film. You can hear the film advance as you shoot. You take out the completed canister. When you get your developed film back you can see and hold the film that physically changed due to light coming in through the camera. In a world where everything is digital creating a physical image with light is kind of amazing.

I still mainly shoot digital. There are too many advantages to not shoot digital in my opinion. However, if you're a fan of photography I recommend giving film a chance. The experience is really special.

It's so much easier to not do anything of these things. Unhealthy food is easy to find and often cheaper. It's easy to form bad habits as a child and continue them until adulthood. These are all excuses, but it's an easy trap to fall into.

I grew up eating junk food and never exercising. I knew it wasn't good for me, but I honestly didn't know how to exercise and didn't have access to a gym. Making an effort to be healthier as an adult has been one of the best decisions of my life, but it's still so easy to fall back into bad habits.
