After the article begins it says, "This is a another true one".... Sorry I don't like it. It should be This is Another true one. No need for "a" before another
Just an hour ago I was thinking what would happen if we make it mandatory that mega shops cannot exist. I mean a max floor area of 50ft x 50ft is good enough for any kind of shop. I remember going to Texas and seeing all the small small shops shutdown because only Walmarts are thriving. And now in India too we see such rottenness and the small guy has no where to run and open a shop. I was thinking about making a nation building game on these constraints. What are your thoughts as an actual city builder if 50ft x 50ft per shop is going to help the small guy like me. I also want to constraint each individual to own only upto two shops. That's all. More money than that and you enjoy life or open a factory but you cannot snatch away little guy's opportunities
Re:OpenBSD 8.0 on Monday October 19, 2026 @11:13PM (#50160931)
I really like OpenBSD. I have used it for years. I feel the folks there are very helpful and awesome but I also do not like that graphic.
Link about plagiarism by OpenAI on solving Navier Stokes's Theorem https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Navier%E2%80%93Stokes_priority...

Let's just say that The math problem that got solved, I was working on it for many years but some company people used my knowledge my prompts and "solved" it without giving me any credits or money. Firstly they plagiarised the books and research papers and then they plagiarised the prompts by the mathematicians. Yes AI can make art and has caused many artists finding work difficult but AI art is always souless and worthless, same thing will be for math it will become souless and worthless because when humans who are experts in their fields invest their ingenuity then art becomes alive but if ordinary people like me will just prompt into the machine then souless things will come out that will be very worthless and disposable.

We (i.e the govts chosen by us) should come up with a criterion that a corporation must have a 1:1 human and robot ratio. If they don't comply then don't let them operate on American soil or Indian soil (choose your country)
Who knew the year of Linux would arrive not because of tech people but because of war mongering politicians. You maybe a Democrat or a Republican but here in India everything has become sky high expensive after Trump's war.

My only illiterate bickering is that systemd may have some opaque or harder to locate american footprint which may defeat the purpose. I wish the European govts have gotten together and put up a systemd free system. There are several nice ones out thereblike void linux or Antix Linux or even OpenBSD yesi know it is not linux but I found it easy

Re:Why Do We Need Human Mathematicians Anymore? on Monday September 21, 2026 @12:30AM (#49783074)
Mathematics is a fruit of labour fuelld by love by the mathematicians. It's not demand and supply. I don't think the majority of academic mathematicians do it because they cannot get better jobs elsewhere. Not everything is demand and supply. Things we humans do for love.....

On a side note I am not a fan of "poshenloh method" for solving quadratic equations because it only works in specific cases but actually taks longer to solve in most cases

The researcher in the link [0] says that OpenAI offered to co write with him the paper about Navier Stokes theorem if he only agrees to not include his co researcher who was also working on this. I find this highly unethical by multi billion dollar organisations to arm twist small and big researchers like this.

Check for links using ctr F or something and yes no one can read all the knowledge in the world nor all the books in the world. We just read what we can

....."still the original church"

The Orthodox churches may want to have a word with you. Especially the orthodox church in India founded by Thomas (one of the Jesus' 12 disciples)

Re:The two Christian saints who are the Buddha on Tuesday September 08, 2026 @02:20PM (#49614450)
Christ and Christianity is well documented in all the kingdoms where it was persecuted and then the subsequent kingdoms had record of those records because one thing about kingdoms is that they don't throw away previous king's records because land records and administrative decrees are stored. Also Christians and Buddhist religions have the tradition of holding conferences that are well documented and happen after every few centuries. As an Indian I have read about records of the Buddist conferences held by various kings since after Buddha. Do I think Buddha is God. No. But he was pretty influential and impactful. The Christian conferences are also there where major theology points are discussed and confusions clarified. The records of thoe conferences exist

Catholic church tries to be practical but inadvertently poisons Christianity. Christianity is way different from the Catholic church.

Because catholic church is whatever the newest model is in the distro but other distros try to be very very clean and try to follow the original texts and their meaning but catholic church is like the new iphone trying to be like whatever is the trendy trend nowadays.

Re:The two Christian saints who are the Buddha on Tuesday September 08, 2026 @02:08PM (#49614232)
I just read the headline. Why should I read the article when the headline is so misleading.
Re:The two Christian saints who are the Buddha on Tuesday September 08, 2026 @12:57PM (#49613029)
Get your facts correct. Buddha was more than 600 BC focus on the word "Before" while Christians and the Christian saints came after Christ.

Don't be an intellectual hodgepodge

Re: on Saturday August 29, 2026 @06:03AM (#49488482)
India's ruling BJP has created a system replete with its henchmen and cronies that now the friends can loot the system of 22000 crore rupees and in return the NCLAT created by BJP orders the crony to only return 6.5 crore rupees and get away. The banks are getting a haircut of 99.97% and there is not even a media furore because henchmen and yesmen are sitting everywhere in India!
i like the idea. I dont think it is cringe. My advice is to build up small and grow slowly. In the process prove to the world that you guys are capable of guiding your community from malicious actors so that you dont get suddenly a court order to take your servers offline or maybe have multiple servers in multiple locations. Also prove to the world along the way that you wont fold in 20 years and sell all the collected wisdom to google or openai etc. Honestly second one is too hard to do because how can you stop the scrapers from scraping your content.

i wish we invent digital landmines that will not get activated when clicked by the humans but will take down the server thats trying to scrape without permission.

Sounds like "LinkedIn Personal" can be launched. I hope LinkedIn listens to your and mine idea and hands us some of the profits.

What happens to an account if its karma becomes negative? Can someone's account still post if it has negative karma or is the account deleted if it is negative karma account?
Re:Universal Housing on Sunday August 23, 2026 @02:46PM (#49411326)
Mandatory housing doesn't means a 3 bedroom house always. It can also mean that if you are destitute, you get your own private room and a bed with common dining hall for the entire building. I have met destitutes in US also and they were scrambling to get 5dollar to get a roof over their heads for the night to escape the cold February winter. For a destitute person every bit counts and they can be helped by spending very little money by us. A lot of people are on the streets by choice like they cannot maintain a constant job or they have ADHD and they want to go to Austin for its music scene and in the meantime they are getting by busking for money. So govts can provide such people with simple but safe housing or better word be that roof over their heads every night.

Different govts can develop this rudimentary but useful idea to serve their citizens. We hear some stories where families remain in constant fear of losing the roof over their heads while lots and lots of houses and buildings in India remain empty or are meagerly occupied. Lots of people are right away rejecting the idea but every idea has pros and cons and govts withtheir vast financial resources (printing fiat money which they do for oligarch friends) and administrative resources like police and construction departments can develop something by firstly working on a pilot project in a couple of towns and then tweaking the scheme as nuances become clear. India gives yearly gifts of 5 lakh crore rupees in tax benefits to the top oligarch friends. I'm sure universal housing for the entire world can be solved by India itself with this much money in one year itself

It's hard to let go but it would help to realize that pluto is smaller in size than our own moon. Pluto is a small rock far away from the sun so it could influence 5 other smaller rocks to be it's satellites.

No I remember the down voting symbol. They two together used to look like a parallelogram now it's only a triangle. Maybe there was a glitch in the system

One thing I want to know is that my comments can get downvoted but I cannot downvote others' comments. Initially I could downvote people's comments but for a couple of years now that ability is not showing to me. I can only upvote the comments.
Re:Universal Housing on Sunday August 23, 2026 @11:41AM (#49409723)
10% mandatory free is very very good idea. And no one can keep houses as investment. Yes that's also awesome idea. I don't get it why should we allow capitalist forces to manipulate and act on fundamental necessities like housing, air, water, food (in India, the govt has been distributing practically free grains since we got freedom i think). I mean if you don't want to eat govt rationed grain then you can buy from free market but govt does gives dirt cheap rations to the poor. So these ideas are amazing. If I don't want to live in my parents' house then it should return to the govt pool. I should not have the right to sell it because why should I take someone else's right. I often think of creating a free housing for the destitute from one of my parents property. What's stopping me is that police and judiciary and politicians in India love to harass an innocent person till eternity. What if someone dies at my facility because I only want to provide free sleeping space to 20 people and not take daily care of the dwellers. Police also frowns upon housing unknown people on your property. I don't understand the logic. But police wants them to be destitute rather than they be some shady person living in your facility. So who has time for doing all the due diligence for the destitutes because in India police work and court proceedings never never end. My fatherbis fighting a court case regarding that property since 35 years and still no end in sight
Re:Go Ahead, Sean Duffy. Let Your Daughter Go to Harvard on Sunday August 23, 2026 @11:10AM (#49409445)
People should take bible literally. And the difficult parts of it should be prayed for to God. And yes we should discuss the difficult matters with other Christians. Lot of things mentioned in the Bible are hard and may make one's heart tremble because we dont want to disappoint God. But that feeling is actually a good thing. This feeling I think is the sign that we are transforming into Christ. It gives you something to pray to God and ask for His grace and patiently wait for His answer.

Don't give much thought to what people believe in or not because it is between them and God.

It's God's grace that matters between God and me.

Be more Christlike is the best advice for any Christian.

Thankyou for asking this. I have been searching this on the internet lately: i have been teaching grade 6 math. And i told them that david's star is a mathematically a curve. Because we can draw it without lifting the pencil. Then one child drew something that looked like confederate flag boundary and asked if it is also curve when drawn without lifting the pencil.

I actually confused them by drawing the 2d depiction of a closed cylinder and asking them if thats a curve. Sometimes it is interesting to discuss difficult unknown things in class. can someone plz tell me if these two figures are curves or not. The confederate flag and 2d drawing of a closed cylinder. And what book should i read to know better

We in India have very good people's movements who hold power to root out corruption and have impact on government but these movements' leaders have shown a tendency of getting co opted by the ruling BJP
Thanks :)

There's a nice beautiful and long video about a Yale professor of Computer Science debunking Evolution solely by Computer Science and Mathematical logic.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noj4phMT9OE

I feel 90% people may not know that David Knuth is Christian in his beliefs. I myself have come to know today only.
