I'm sure a Youtuber could have saved it :)

Re:Redesigning Source Control at Anthropic on Tuesday October 13, 2026 @03:14PM (#50077057)
Is that not how Cloud storage vendors make money? They dedup all that data but still charge every individual for all their data.
Re:AI needs $6T in annual revenue to justify data centre boom on Tuesday September 29, 2026 @06:32PM (#49901704)
Do you have any examples? I'm honestly curious.
Why was it badly engineered?
Re:OpenAI Cut Off a Billion-Dollar Customer to Avoid Elon Musk on Thursday September 03, 2026 @05:19PM (#49557181)
I don't think there are any consequences to his actions. That probably never ends well.
Re:AI companies are shredding rare books on Monday July 27, 2026 @09:36PM (#49078182)
I thought about this and what they are doing is writing the music industry out of the minds of the next generation who mostly uses Youtube etc. for entertainment.

Most Youtube videos do not contain any copyrighted music as it takes too much revenue as you state.

Again, its short term profit at the cost of long-term gain.

I really didn't care what my first IT job paid I was just happy to have the opportunity.
I will watch any movie or genre where it has a good story and character development.

Why don't they focus on this more?

Would be interesting to see what they can actually show for that investment. Some VR goggles and Raybans.
Marketing has been brilliant thou.

Musk has never been scared of vertically integrating something that's too expensive initially.

What about the Apple watch?
Re:ABC Pulls Jimmy Kimmel Live from the Air 'Indefinitely' on Wednesday September 17, 2025 @08:58PM (#45283567)
I wonder if, from a staffing perspective, it's actually easier to cancel a show under these circumstances than through a more traditional cancellation process.
Is it possible that they wanted to pull the show and this was just the excuse they were looking for?
Re:Why Was Apache Kafka Created? on Wednesday September 10, 2025 @04:07PM (#45202892)
It's not a create solution and Confluent is not really investing in it anymore.
Re:iPhone dumbphone on Tuesday September 09, 2025 @09:57PM (#45192153)
I do the same accept I created the parent account that is stored on my computer.

The friction of having to go to my computer to grant access to my apps on the phone is enough to keep my off social media.

Re:YouTube Is a Mysterious Monopoly on Tuesday September 09, 2025 @09:39PM (#45192019)
I can't seem to find any car related videos on the competitor. :)
It does since humans where able to invent a programming language.

We like MasterChef Australia for the same reason.
Re:Why Was Apache Kafka Created? on Tuesday August 26, 2025 @04:40PM (#45032040)
Have you found a good Head for Kafka to easily query the Topics using a SQL like language? Especially something that can infer table schema from the Schema Registry.
What is interesting is if the world is not that reliant on Taiwan chips anymore would China really care that much about Taiwan?
Re:Work Life balance slows careers on Monday July 21, 2025 @04:18PM (#44639964)
I think what complicates the matter is that some people have an inherent drive. They want to see progress and really struggle when it's not happening.

The flip side of the coin is those people might end up alcoholics to try and suppress that drive.

Re:Stack Overflow is almost dead on Thursday May 15, 2025 @05:17PM (#43999428)
It looks like Stackoverflow was already in a decline even before Covid.

I wonder what developers started using during that time.

Would it not cost more if they had to get humans to write out all the content instead of just having a human DJ?
Interesting I've found it pretty helpful for my searches. Maybe I search for more simple things :-)
Re:OpenAI in Talks to Buy Windsurf for About $3B on Wednesday April 16, 2025 @02:56PM (#43709058)
Does it mean that OpenAI is realising that Llms are not going to improve that much so they are trying to expand horizontally.
