Re:US Suspends Visa Program for Tech Firms Including Microsoft on Thursday October 08, 2026 @12:10PM (#50007627)
This is a load of shit. There are millions of people out of work in the US and it's likely that tens of thousands of those are perfectly qualified developers. Assuming your expectations haven't been completely warped, your real problem is that modern hiring as a process is completely broken as a result of multiple factors.
Re:AI needs $6T in annual revenue to justify data centre boom on Tuesday September 29, 2026 @04:59PM (#49900456)
It appears that out of a desperate urge to show your "Well Actually" Club Card that you've proved their entire point.
Searched the quote and you neglected to elaborate on how small the number is:

> Health service figures show that from April to September 2024, 1,914 people were treated at NHS gambling clinics. This compares to the previous financial year when a total of 1,389 patients were cared for. In 2022-23 this number was 1,013, and in 2020-21 it was 775 patients.

I get that you're probably trying to make a point that it's bad for everyone in general, but the US is on a completely different level of societal corruption from all of this.

America is not the UK and its citizens are not capable of regulating themselves in the face of this sort of exploitation.

My dude, it's literally just fancy autocomplete and isn't intelligent at all.
