Re:YouTube to automatically label AI-generated videos on Thursday May 28, 2026 @10:39AM (#48309598)
As an average person, try Beethoven or Mozart.
I added two songs from an AI artist to my Liked Songs back when all this started. Now I've removed them and have spent the last 14 months trying to convince Spotify that I'm not interested in this artist. Meanwhile they keep plastering every new single this slop generator pumps out onto the front of my homescreen. Sometimes it's multiple releases per week. Absolutely infuriating.
Re:ChatGPT serves ads. Here's the full attribution loop on Wednesday April 29, 2026 @11:31AM (#47949835)
It is naive to be believe there aren't people out there who think this way. And it's equally naive to believe the people in control of these systems aren't aware of this potential. Just watch the money flow.
Re:Miscellanea: The War in Iran on Wednesday March 25, 2026 @04:51PM (#47523046)
From Wikipedia:"Such defeat can be attributed to various shortfalls in simulation capabilities and design that significantly hindered Blue Force fighting and command capabilities. Examples include: a time lag in intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance information being forwarded to the Blue Force by the simulation master, various glitches that limited Blue ships point-defense capabilities and error in the simulation which placed ships unrealistically close to Red assets."

It definitely seems like there were issues with RedFors achievments. But the response is still ridiculous. I would have also resigned in ReFor's shoes.

Re:Rome is studded with cannon balls (2022) on Wednesday February 11, 2026 @02:48PM (#46979905)
Yeah nobody who's ever seen a ballistic object hit anything is going to mistake that first image for a cannonball that was actually fired at the wall.
Re:Unseen Footage of Atari Battlezone Arcade Cabinet Production on Saturday February 07, 2026 @09:58AM (#46924372)
This site has become completly insufferable with the incessant AI accusations IN EVERY SINGLE THREAD, often over the most benign posts.
Re:How to Code Claude Code in 200 Lines of Code on Friday January 09, 2026 @08:50AM (#46553798)
Yeah on a second look GP might actually be on to something here. Jackfranklyn only makes top level comments, never dialogs with anyone, and I count at least 3 instances of "as someone who does this for a living" that are too seperated in scope to be plausibly realistic.
Re:How to Code Claude Code in 200 Lines of Code on Thursday January 08, 2026 @04:39PM (#46546867)
This site has gone full Tower of Babel. I've seen at least a thousand "AI comment" callouts on this site in the last month and at this point I'm pretty sure 99% of them are wrong.

In fact, can someone link me to a disputed comment that the consensus ends up being it's actually AI? I don't think I've seen one.

The envoy from the ivory tower has arrived to inform us that actually, we are building taller steeples than ever before.

Burden of proof is on you sir, not the other way around.
Re:Zohran Mamdani wins the New York mayoral race on Wednesday November 05, 2025 @09:07AM (#45822994)
Core election promise? It was a comment he made half a decade before running for mayor. Perhaps it's time to update your Kool-aid detectors.

"All programming language documentation is worthless because some developers make spaghetti code."

It continuously blows my mind how few people on the internet understand the distinction between the Old and New Testaments.

You must get along really well with your German friends.
Re:Librarians Are Dangerous on Monday April 21, 2025 @08:04AM (#43750964)
Nothing huh? I guess I'm hallucinating a literal percentage point of the country hitting the streets every weekend.
Re:Electron Band Structure in Germanium, My Ass on Wednesday April 02, 2025 @08:36AM (#43555948)
I've been redditing for 15 years and until a week ago here on HN, I've never seen the previous commenter reffered to as GP. What is that an acronym for?
If you're tired of giving a foreign nation the support they bought from you for the price of their nuclear arsenal then give them back what they paid and walk away.
Re:Frank Lloyd Wright's mile high skyscraper proposal (2021) on Thursday February 06, 2025 @11:13PM (#42969295)
This is incredibly commonplace in Alpine Europe. I regularly see people on the train in ski boots.
Re:20k federal workers take "buyout" so far, official says on Thursday February 06, 2025 @09:41AM (#42962786)
Ironically, enough, interacting with that website without an adblocker is itself a great example of hypernormalization.
Re:TikTok preparing for U.S. shut-off on Sunday on Wednesday January 15, 2025 @09:36AM (#42711211)
>that most American voters aren't so perturbed by what's happening in Gaza as to want an administration that would be at least as effective in reeling in the Israelis as the Biden administration was.

It's not hard to be at least as capable as somebody who's completly incapable. Think what you will of Trump, but in one meeting he had a solid deadline for implementing the ceasefire agreement the Biden admin has had floating since May. There weren't even any changes to it, so what the heck has Biden been doing?

> TBH it would be more of an inconvenience to have my Google account banned than one of my bank accounts.

Congratulations, you're in an extremely privileged segment of society. Most of those truckers would likely find it easier to relate to a little green Martian in a flying saucer than to you.

Re:Something is wrong on the Internet on Monday December 23, 2024 @05:46PM (#42498220)
If there was a list of top 10 internet replies where the commenter got the point of the guy he was replying to basically exactly backwards, this comment would have to be in the top 5. What a spectacular failure of reading comprehension.
Re:How Boston City Hall was born on Friday December 20, 2024 @12:26PM (#42472976)
Funny thing about the glass box. If you look down Tremont Street towards the bay you used to get a beautifully framed view of Old North Church. The sightline was considered a historical landmark (there's even a plaque for it in front of the Omni Parker House hotel). The Government Center station completely obstructed the view to Old North. Allegedly this is one of the main reasons that Government center is a glass box, it was the only way the construction was approved.

Dude tried to make a chill scenery video then kept jerking the camera around like a schizophrenic squirrel.
To be fair they always say that. Everybody gets the "one time exception."

Is this post about the movie or about you?
Interesting, I'm not sure that colorblindness can be severe enough for that to be a problem. I'm red/green colorblind, but I have no issue with stoplights or LEDs. Things onlystart to get hairy once the spectrum shifts closer to the browns such as forest green or burnished slate.
I would rather live in a society where a "selfish person" still has an obligation to do the right thing and turns in an insane homicidal maniac rather than one where John Doe decides he has no obligation to save people's lives because Bob the psychopath happens to be his brother.
