Privacy 101. This is the best private photo sharing app on the market. (wink wink)

Good news: rolling these facial scans everywhere in the country should lead to dozens of false positives.
So for every trillion that was invested, 100 trillion were made. Got it.
Re:Claude is no longer available for minors on Friday September 11, 2026 @10:42AM (#49659329)
Nothing can be as bad as modern social networks. Unless they start pushing manipulation, brain rot, gambling and porn into each AI answer.
Re:AirPods 5 on Wednesday September 09, 2026 @02:18PM (#49631017)
Too much competition from China. They would have bumped the price if it wasn't for the cheap alternatives from every Chinese manufacturer.
Re:Just Bury Your Trash on Wednesday September 02, 2026 @10:33AM (#49536905)
90% of countries use some kind of fossil fuel to generate electricity or heat, so burning trash instead won't increase the CO2 emissions. The rule is simple: if you already burn fossil fuels, you should burn trash instead.
Re:Just Bury Your Trash on Wednesday September 02, 2026 @10:03AM (#49536423)
Absolutely, but green activists are actively fighting against burning trash. This needs to stop. Even if a country doesn't burn coal it should still burn trash instead of sending it to poor countries. People need to take responsibility for the trash that they generate.
Re:Restroom Archive on Tuesday September 01, 2026 @03:41AM (#49519170)
It's actually everywhere. Europe is full of door knobs. We're trying to make sure that everyone touches as many surfaces as possible. Next step would be tongue operated doors and switches.

According to me, this is nonsense.

You make this sound like it matters whether the water accumulated over 10,000 years or 30 days. It doesn't.

Re:I miss the old Claude Code on Wednesday August 26, 2026 @09:01AM (#49448368)
It happened as their user base exploded and their infrastructure could not keep up with all the new demand.

> I have tried to do the same recently with the newer models and we're still not writing code by the time the older models had finished their work

Claude used to run at ~150tps in January. Now it runs at 50tps if you're lucky. That explains most of the speed issues without even getting into technical details about the new models.

> run free LLMs locally at native speed

This reads like a hallucination. What does native speed even mean?

Re:DeepSeek API Pricing Update on Thursday August 13, 2026 @10:04AM (#49286166)
Why not? They probably only offered those deals because of DeepSeek aggressive pricing. Now that DeepSeek is 3x more expensive it's time to revert those discounts.
This is a much more interesting concept than Aptera. Small and affordable car, expandable solar array. Keep it simple.
After looking at the code in the tic tac toe example I am now 100% convinced that I need React.
Don't worry, they pinky promise not to save anything.
He's going to take your comment and give it to Claude as a prompt.
That's modern internet for you.
Why would I set 4.7 to xhigh or max when the original 4.6 was doing just fine with medium and high?
Re:DeepSeek v4 on Friday April 24, 2026 @05:23AM (#47887733)
It's because investors in OpenAI/Anthropic want to get their money back in 10 months, not in 10 years.
Token bonanza! Inference sellers love this simple trick.
Re:Android CLI: Build Android apps 3x faster using any agent on Thursday April 16, 2026 @05:35PM (#47799801)
Absolutely not. That would be crazy.
Re:Pretty Fish: A better mermaid diagram editor on Wednesday April 15, 2026 @10:38AM (#47779652)
Make no mistakes.
We currently use vast amounts of land growing corn and other crops specifically for biodiesel. Solar panels produce over 100x more energy per hectare than corn ethanol, even in countries like Denmark with limited sunlight. It makes perfect sense to repurpose some biofuel farmland for solar panels. That's just efficient land use, not an attack on agriculture.
Re:Filing the Corners Off MacBooks on Saturday April 11, 2026 @03:46AM (#47728424)
I can't downvote you enough for this comment, but hopefully others will. You're arguing that a device designed for portability is perfect as it is because you're supposed to use external monitors and proper keyboards. This is peak HN/Reddit/"current society", whatever you want to call it.
Re:Jobs Being Created by AI on Monday April 06, 2026 @05:14AM (#47658548)
Hey Claude, rename all these jobs to include AI so that WSJ can write an article about AI creating new jobs.
"Read the Book" button, next gen web UI. That's all you need to know about this one.
By asking it to cite its sources. Whenever I use AI, I have it pull direct quotes from the text to justify its interpretation. Sometimes it's spot on, sometimes it's wrong. But skimming a paper to fact-check a few specific quotes is still vastly faster than reading a dense paper completely blind.
Re:Opera: Rewind The Web to 1996 (Opera at 30) on Tuesday March 24, 2026 @05:44AM (#47500395)
That sure took a lot of work for something that nobody's gonna watch.
