Re:Kimi K3.1 Pro and K3.1 Pro Highspeed on Friday October 23, 2026 @06:08PM (#50216038)
Kimi is so much more blunt and argumentative than USA models.

it's so funny, it will say things like. "We've already been over this 3 times and you refuse to accept my advice, asking the same question another way won't change the answer."

So funny

Steve Jobs would never...
Do it.

The government is too Bureaucratic to act.

Critics don’t seem to understand two very important things about this

This mosquito (Asian tiger mosquito) is a newly invasive species and it can carry all of the deadly viruses

This method was successfully used to get rid of an invasive fruit fly in California/ Nevada in the 80’s

Do it

rode with my friend from San Francisco down to San Diego in his Tesla, and he literally didn't touch the wheel or the pedals the whole time. Then a couple days later we drove back the same way.

People don't talk about these cars driving themselves enough imho

I just did it, it was 7443
Re:Netflix to Acquire Warner Bros on Friday December 05, 2025 @10:51AM (#46162900)
Nearly every media journalist in Hollywood considers this to be the worst outcome for Hollywood.
Re:Warner Bros Begins Exclusive Deal Talks With Netflix on Friday December 05, 2025 @02:17AM (#46157638)
Anyone that thinks Netflix buying WB would be better than the Ellisons knows nothing about the media business. Look at what James Cameron said about it last week, everyone prefers the Ellisons over Netflix because Netflix actively wants to kill the theatrical and physical media businesses
Re:How to lower America's soaring health-care costs on Friday November 21, 2025 @11:28AM (#46005957)
Startups have been slowly whittling away at every business operating behind licenses and regulation for the last 2 decades.

The last 3 industry that will succumb, (imho) will be finance, legal, then healthcare in that order.

They should put certain things under nurse care without a doctor. And Lower the cost of a medical degree. The gatekeeping and regulation of medical licenses has created businesses maximizing profits behind the cloak of government regulation.

And like colleges, there’s too much back end administration adding to the costs, have to do something about that too

Not a bigmaist,

Had a wife, they split up, but didn't get divorced because he had no prenup and he was one of the wealthiest people in the country.

After she died he married again.

classy to the end
sounds about right, soon enough those things are gonna be nearly indistinguishable from traditional tv and streaming
Coffee without food really fucks up my stomach. people rarely bring that up. But after years of coffee without food, it can sorta kill your stomach

If you listen to the speech it's a bit more nuanced than that headline.
Re:Everything that's wrong with Google Search in one image on Thursday September 25, 2025 @10:56AM (#45373396)
Google searches days are numbered. But the older generation will probably use it for the rest of their lives.
I'm surprised this sort of thing didn't come out earlier, they've been doing this for years.
Was this written by a plastic bottle?
Wish everyone in America could read this even keeled comment. Great stuff from Apple
heard someone say that touching a computer paid more than it should for nearly 30 years and now it's going to pay much less. Because everyone can do it, even computers.
with so many embryos being frozen today, this will probably become more common. It's fascinating

AI as humanity killer is investment hype. GPT-4 can't even consistently halve a recipe correctly

Sang at his farewell concert, raised $190 million for childrens charity. Traveled to Switzerland and offed himself before parkinsons ravaged him.

An aristocratic death

Re:Nobody Knows How to Build with AI Yet on Saturday July 19, 2025 @12:30PM (#44616899)
My theory on AI is it's the next iteration of google search, a better more conversational, base layer over all the information that exists on the internet.

Of course some people will lose jobs just like what happened to several industries when search became ubiquitous. (newspapers, phone books, encyclopedias, travel agents)

But IMHO this isn't the existential crisis people think it is.

It's just a tool. Smart, clever people can do lots of cool stuff with tools.

But you still have to use it,

Search has just become Chat.

You used to have to search, now you chat and it does the searching, and more!

Re:Netflix uses AI effects for first time to cut costs on Saturday July 19, 2025 @11:36AM (#44616401)
People didn't seem to be nearly as upset when the studios outsourced all the VFX to cheaper off shore labor. Now off shore labor is getting replaced with sophisticated software masquerading as artificial intelligence...

complaints and protests are just little buckets that won't be able to stop the flood caused by the tides of change

A song as old as time

The show cost 100 million a year to make a loses 40 million a year. It's not just politics

Shouldn’t be surprising, every late night show is going to end soon. They’re all too expensive
