If Russia were trying to destroy the United States from the inside, how would things be any different than they are now?
If you think a "gender fluid" monster from japanese folklore is somehow misrepresentative, you have a lot to learn.
You started this (soon to be flagged to nonexistence) chain with whataboutism.

The front page of this website is almost comically uninformative. I'd take this post down, update the site to explain itself better, and submit it again at a later date.
They want to ban it for absolute facial recognition coverage, and pretty much nothing else.
The video to audio examples are really impressive! The video featuring the band showcases some of the obvious shortcomings of this method (humans will have very precise expectations about the kinds of sounds 5 trombones will make)—but the tennis example shows its strengths (decent timing of hit sounds, eerily accurate acoustics for the large internal space). I'm very excited to see how this improves a few more papers down the line!
Re:Foreign visits into the U.S. fell off a cliff in March on Monday April 07, 2025 @09:50AM (#43611454)
Suggesting that giving the rest of the world the "fox news viewpoint" would somehow improve foreigner's views or knowledge of America is spurious at best, and delusional at worst.

You don't need examples when you have faith
It's amusing to me that anyone would think a random smattering of ADUs would do anything at all to push the needle when it comes to housing. This is like fixing linter warnings (but not even doing that!) instead of building an entirely new section of an app. We need the latter.
Err—"hopefully"?
This presumes the government will be acting in good faith, which is increasingly unlikely day to day.
The site and docs for Konva are conspiciously pleasant and well fleshed out. The "price" link jumpscare is also something I haven't yet seen.
It's a historic tech-related government coup, which I'd think is of great interest to "Hackers". It's very rare that a bunch of tech whiz-kids are so directly embedded in current events. For better or worse, Musk and his minions are very much at the forefront of tech related news for the forseeable future.
A bit late for that
Yes, yes, we know. You won't believe us until we actually are living in the feudalist society they're working, right now, to create brazenly in public. Enjoy gloating about crazy we are until you realize we really are not.
I don't know how long it will take, but you'll eventually catch up on the grift, too.

Hopefully this round of extremely poor government decisions helps edify the populace in future elections.
Re:Fake VS Code Extension on NPM Spreads Multi-Stage Malware on Monday February 10, 2025 @05:49PM (#43006306)
This is an extremely weird thing to say. I don't know a single node dev who wants more dependencies. Anyone with a modicum of experience in the space knows the cost of bringing in more external code.

Maybe you could point some of the media to these primary sources you're citing.
We can't exactly stop the government for a rebuild, you know.
I'm certain they've thought of this and have decided that the alternative—a firehose of whatever data the AI has in its grasp—is worse than the "censored" version. I'm curious to know what your ideal approach would be.
Re:Stats – macOS system monitor in your menu bar on Thursday January 30, 2025 @06:57PM (#42883478)
This didn't just come out, this has been available on MacOS for years.
Are you really trying to equate the importance of healthcare and gun ownership?
Was this on the ballot, or even a campaign promise?

I'm not sure this works if you have astigmatism

Perhaps you could start the conversation by giving some examples of this perceived toxicity.
Re:Grayjay Desktop App on Friday December 20, 2024 @02:24PM (#42474065)
Have you tried informing YouTube that you are not interested in Joe Rogan? There are several places and ways to do so in the application, and they seem to have worked for me.
Re:We May Be on the Brink of Finding the Real Planet Nine on Wednesday December 18, 2024 @01:14PM (#42453172)
It seems to just be a poetic way of saying orbits that are affected by, or only possible because of, another object.
You can only take the ideology olympics so far in geopolitical warfare
Re:Timemap.org – Interactive Map of History on Friday December 13, 2024 @12:31PM (#42410502)
This is a well implemented and remarkably responsive version of what I've always wanted--a map that travels throughout all of human history. I'm so happy to see this today, honestly.
