Re:HackerTube: YouTube built from videos recommended by HN

It would maybe work for Youtube though. Where you could not only subscribe to one content creator, but also to their recommendations. For a better overview the recommendations could be other channels (instead of individual videos).

My issue with it is that I don't understand what the difference between subscriptions and notification are. Also it seems to just show me new subscribed videos only if I watched that channel recently.

Same here. My dad is 78 and started watching Youtube because he was interested in gardening content. But now his feed always turns into worse and worse AI slop... Like those cheap moral stories, or just a bit of knowledge stretched out and repeated over 30 minutes.
I tried cleaning his watch history, and it helps, but only for a while.

Not sure, but I heard that special Hotel TVs are basically that. They don't seem to be more expensive.

AI is pretty capable of detecting meaningless fluff though. If anything it could actually help to find the actually promising papers.

Just because it's criminal, it doesn't mean that every private entity has to help to prevent it at costs of your privacy.
If there are people that host parties in their homes to share CSAM, does that mean that it should be mandatory to install surveillance cameras in your house?
Also as if people that are seriously sharing CSAM, wouldn't encrypt the data before sharing it.

Btw, at first sight it's unclear what the scope of this is.
It seems to be one project, but then it's actually multiple smaller libraries and "Latte" is just the organisation?
Also is the dependency management not it's own project?
Re:OpenPrinter
on Monday July 06, 2026 @02:22AM (#48801253)
The issue is mainly the nozzle. Ironically 3D printers are a lot easier there, since you just need to melt a thick wire, and not worry about microscopically small droplets.
Re:OneDrive data now has an expiry date

Then the actual issue is that OneDrive syncs deactivated (empty) accounts to your system, deleting the offline files as well..?

I'm also unsure what they wanted Microsoft to do. Just store data that apparently doesn't belong to anyone anymore forever?

When they do that (e.g. in customer support) I sometimes do the same. I explain to the AI what my end goal is, and then let it deal with the answers.

It was good for finding answers. But as a community to actually participate it was horrible. You couldn't even answer questions, because if you didn't get enough likes they would block you from answering any more.

Can also confirm that the worst part was the prepping. You have to dring 2 liters of liquid that give you diarrea... The second liter is the worst, since the body learns that it's "poison" and triggers all the reflexes to make you not swallow it.

Most programming languages and tools are free and open source. Software developers will not code you an app for free.

To be fair in the specific case of CS2, the normal modes without FACEIT are really barely playable. Most games are just a massive loss or win, depending on who has the suspiciously good player with 100 hours in their team.

- There are too many views whithout explanation of what they are
- By default the position of the tools and buttons is a chaotic mess
- There are things that seem to be the same but arent (e.g. Sketch from the "Part Design" and "Sketch" view)
- The 3D view is glitchy. The reflections make things invisible, AA is off by default, there is no proper Grid...
- The QT stylesheet is kinda ugly. If you literally delete it completely and revert to the default that QT has it looks much nicer.
- The settings are a bit messy and often it's not clear what they do.

How is it a single place if every dev has a full copy of the repository? Also unless it's some software that each user customizes and builds for themselves, you still need some kind of way to tell which is the official version.
