None of that makes any sense.

None of his other companies would have survived? His first two companies survived and his competitors frequently got far more of a subsidy than he did.

Comical nonsense

No hyperscalers are going to get knocked out. Mostly this is short term overreaction to lower profits
Re:Official Claude Code extension compromise on Friday October 30, 2026 @11:50AM (#50305666)
This is an infantile understanding of what actually happened
Oh just like how Seattle did the same and now it's become a ghost town and they are way short on the money they need.

The market is lucrative because of the people. If the wealthiest people leave it won't be lucrative anymore

I just don’t know why people think companies will still be founded there if these things go into practice. When you tell people that they can save billions by leaving they probably will
Better than ever tbh
Re:Things to know if you get cancer in 2026 on Thursday October 15, 2026 @11:26AM (#50105072)
Leave it to the experts huh? Good idea!

Here's the experts showing that meat is heavily linked to cancer:

"The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classifies processed meat as a Group 1 carcinogen (meaning it is carcinogenic to humans), and red meat as a Group 2A carcinogen (meaning it is probably carcinogenic to humans)."

Oh man this is really sad to me. End of an Era. His documentaries fueled me so much in the 90s and 2000s. I loved his stuff and his blogs.

Did an amazing job documenting the computer revolution and the internet revolution.

I’m a fan for sure but everything is said is true. If the products were bad I’d say that. The majority of people here at the complete opposite and exist to dump on Elon related companies for no reason other than they don’t like him personally.

4.6 has been fantastic for me

I wish we could have emotionally charged language like this banned
Re:Fed hikes rates as inflation worries push up bond yields on Wednesday September 16, 2026 @04:41PM (#49732704)
Partly it doesn't happen because you can't really get much done even if you have a majority. You really end up needing a super majority.

The one thing both parties agree on though is running up a massive deficit

My thoughts exactly.

You are naive, yes. It's thier data. You have no claim to it. If you don't like it don't use it.
Re:iPhone Duo on Wednesday September 09, 2026 @02:52PM (#49632018)
Yup. I mean I don’t have any need for this one, but in general, the cost it’s pretty low when you look at it from a monthly cost or a daily cost

They aren’t gonna care because they aren’t making any money off of you anyway
Almost all of Bill Clinton's policies were to the RIGHT of Trump, so I'm not sure what you are saying exactly. Biden created the most debt in 1 term of any president ever.

You can't really compare one party from 27 years ago to today realistically.

If the US suffers severely the rest of the world will collapse. There's no scenario in which that doesn't happen. Everything is interdepedant and many non US countries (like Europe, Japan, China) depend heavily on the US.
The point is is that it just doesn’t matter anymore. Neither party is going to stop it. No matter who is in power It’s going to end badly.
Well all the other administrations were driving 200 or 300 miles over, now we are driving 500 over. It doesn't matter really, if we hit anything (like Japan dumping US treasuries) we may be dead.

The democrats thing was what I had originally replied to. My whole point is that it really doesn't matter who is in the White House really, both sides seem determined to rack up as much debt as possible and it'll probably spiral out of control.

Neither side wants to cut costs (not really), in fact many want to spend more.

There is no practical difference. Both parties are glad to drive the car off a cliff
I don't understand that at all. The deficit has been running rampant ever since Clinton left office. Both sides spent with reckless abandon.
I'm going to be downvoted to oblivion I'm sure but... I guess Musk was right when he said they didn't have the money
The whole world is insolvent
I think that’s true for genius is in general. I don’t mean the Einstein type but I mean the child prodigies that graduate high school at 10 years old or whatever I mean if you can read something once and remember virtually everything about it that’s a gigantic leg up on everyone else who has to study drill the stuff into your head, etc.

Even in a debate, if somebody just has the ability to remember tons of facts and figures, the other person will seem unintelligent by comparison, even if the other person is correct

Not profit then at all is it? As I said
It's talking about revenue not profit
