Hardships any country faces always affect innocent people. For example, immigrants were affected by the opioid crisis, so how does the flimsy, sad idea of "group karma" hold up here?

Sharing uphelpful, embittered opinions like this only spreads pain that wraps back around and bites you, in the end. Treating the suffering of people as a sport or spectator event, by proverbially pointing your finger and laughing, is repulsive and puts you exactly in the same league as the people you detest.

Re:Android May Soon Restrict On-Device ADB on Saturday July 25, 2026 @11:03AM (#49048150)
This gave me a hearty laugh not only due to the idea, but because that's been my near exact experience with helping my family.
Re:98.css on Friday July 24, 2026 @07:03PM (#49042679)
I went straight for the "circles" background. 98 UI and art will never tire me.
Re:Advertise in ChatGPT on Wednesday July 22, 2026 @01:15AM (#49002145)
That's creating a slippery, echoey slope for the role of the agent / butler. You may end up replacing one problem with another.
Profound and painful statement.
Re:I Play Video Games with Spinal Muscular Atrophy on Monday June 22, 2026 @12:25AM (#48625663)
It's really great to see paths forward despite extreme difficulties. My late friend would have been interested in all of these setups, especially the facial tracking. Thank you for sharing this.
Re:Commodore Made a Digital Detox Phone That Isn't Dumb on Sunday June 21, 2026 @11:54AM (#48619966)
Keeping my eye on this. I really like the general form factor and aesthetic here. The candy-like wired audio and chiptune ringtones are a fun bonus.
Re:'We mould trees to grow into the shape of chairs' on Monday May 18, 2026 @11:22AM (#48181093)
That's really cool and I wish you success on future braiding attempts. If you keep trying at it I'm sure you'll find or pioneer some ways to avoid damage.
This is great! The name reference also made me smile.
Re:Our Commitment to Windows Quality on Saturday March 21, 2026 @12:41AM (#47464039)
Thank you for sharing this treasure. Going into my regular reading Hall of Fame curriculum.
Congrats on such an achievement. The remake looks great, but those DOS screenshots have an undeniable charm. With such a large scale game, something I always find interesting is uncovering what types of quirks and bugs bubble underneath the surface in the original version. Did you come across anything obvious in your testing?
Re:Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (December 2025) on Sunday December 14, 2025 @11:37PM (#46270551)
+1 interest!
Excited to check this out! Nice work!
Re:The Big Vitamin D Mistake on Sunday July 27, 2025 @08:29PM (#44706006)
Off topic, but I know someone who was able to narrow down the source of their kidney stones to vitamin D supplement pills, and they were taking them at suggested doses. Wanted to put that here in case it helps someone avoid agony.
Re:Why you should delete WhatsApp and install Signal on Wednesday July 09, 2025 @06:51PM (#44515522)
I've tried Signal a few times and I always end up dropping it. It lacks many things from Telegram that I'd rather not live without. There's nothing I message to anyone that I wouldn't say in a public setting, so I don't see a need to forgo good features for privacy.
Love both the project and the landing page design. Thank you for creating this!!
Re:Relive the 90s: Weather Channel Simulator on Thursday May 29, 2025 @10:17PM (#44132184)
Thank you for sharing this and to everyone else in this thread posting other resources. I've followed W* projects for a long time and I always am invigorated when they pop up anywhere, in any form. I hope the experience is remembered for as long as possible!
I exclusively make games that include online multiplayer, so this really caught my eye. Really looking forward to digging in.
Brings to mind the system that rules over the Digital World :)

Re:Show HN: Clippy – 90s UI for local LLMs on Tuesday May 06, 2025 @01:24PM (#43907528)
Accept my deepest gratitudes for creating this functional art. Love the idea and execution and can't wait to use it!
I agree with this idea. The reason I visited this is because of the idea of commentating Pong is inherently amusing. It makes me realize I'd be down to watch competitive pong.
Re:101 Basic Computer Games on Monday April 28, 2025 @10:56AM (#43822196)
Ooh, thanks for this!
The name is a portmanteau of tamago (たまご, egg) and uotchi (ウオッチ, watch). The original product was even sometimes written as "tamagotch" in some media.
Re:101 Basic Computer Games on Tuesday April 22, 2025 @01:24AM (#43759283)
It's so entertaining to just pour through the source for each game and read the language used at the time, like in the game instructions or result responses.

There's something refreshing about seeing things described in different ways than they are now. I always wonder if some long forgotten words of phrasings will make their way back into public consciousness.

Re:The Most Mario Colors on Thursday January 23, 2025 @06:11PM (#42809016)
Really cool writeup and I have to say that your little animated logo at the footer looks incredibly good. On the homepage your new-old buttons for social media are also incredible. Thanks for all of your work keeping that style alive.
Re:Nepenthes is a tarpit to catch AI web crawlers on Thursday January 16, 2025 @12:13PM (#42728028)
Amazing project. I hope to see this put to serious use.

As a quick note and not sure if it's already been mentioned, but the main blurb has a typo: "... go back into a the tarpit"

This is really cool! I like the name, too. Of all the things you've implemented for this, what has been the most difficult part? And have you hit any serious roadblocks along the way?
I still have the bongos, although they may need some repairs to get them properly working again. I'm excited to check this out!
Re: on Saturday November 02, 2024 @06:01PM (#42029505)
Excellent point about team dynamics. When trying to dynamically guess a group's Elo, it could be interesting to try and create a game-specific radar chart for each player and add those values instead.
