You already pay a wealth tax. It's called property tax. Most people wealth (if any) is concentrated in the house or appartement they live in. And so the real wealth tax is already here.

7B for a service that just routes your output and that lacks some pretty basic features in their UI ? Feels a but too much. I am a user of the product, so I hope this leads to a better web experience.
Not to mention that they played games in the afternoon which isn't the best time for heat, and for a pure water break, 90 seconds is probably enough.
The issue is every federation - whether they never qualified for the world cup or won final(s) - gets one vote. This has become a big issue, with any proposal to give more money (even if that entails compromising on key principles) to federations (by making more money) is almost certain to pass because of very poor FAs that need it / want it desperately.
Yeah, they just rejected the proposal. Meanwhile, UEFA is boycotting the game until those plans are DEFINITELY abandoned. I am wondering whether UEFA could even ask for a change in FIFA statute to ensure it can never be proposed again.
Is writing in neutral tone describing situation in cold facts without evoking situation that generate emotions in the reader ?

I looked up what neutral tone is, and it seems to be more about how you write than what you write. https://pressbooks.ccconline.org/medianewsandreporting/chapt...

This feels weird to me. It's like a newspaper describing a mass-killing without interviewing survivors because they would have emotions.

And also, neutrality is a myth, especially in news reporting. What you can do is using unloaded language and be balanced between parties. But being neutral doesn't mean you don't have values. Preferring live over death, and justice/honesty over injustice/cruelty.

In fact, China fertility rare went down no lower than 1.5 during the one-child policy. In 2024 however, it was 1.03 child/woman, and last year it sank to less than 1 child per woman.

But of course there are huge disparities between cities and rural areas.

Were there any actual doctors in the researchers ? They should have their license immediately revoked for omitting side-effects, thus breaching their oath. But this is China, so I am not sure there will be accountability, unless this get even more attention.
I am baffled by Nature saying would this have been communicated during peer-review this would have been taken into consideration, but because this was discovered after it doesn't count anymore.

It's like a teacher saying if you get caught cheating during the exam you will be punished, but if it's after you can get "scott-free."

But the money was given directly to the researchers. And the article clearly mentionned that a commercial trial would have been given much more scrutiny, and therefore this was a way to bypass all of that.

Also, I am pretty sure this wouldn't have been allowed in the EU and the US, at least not with that few studies on animals. And with good reasons.

Also, you forget that the company probably also payed a lot for this, so it isn't like the total costs is limited to what was illegally paid to the researchers.

Just open-source it already then ?
You just need to keep the discs, not the console. if it's not retro-compatible then you aren't going to be able to play on the console because of architecte differenczs.

But the PS5 can play PS4 games, early PS3 could play PS2 games and so on. And Xbox is entirely retro-compatible because they used the same architecture.

I don't get this article. Physical medium are by design control-free. You will be forever be to watch any movie you buy in a DVD or Blu-Ray format.

That's not the case in digital format. Talking about pipe dreams about companies/government forcing companies to somehow allow digital key or more precisely accounts associated with keys to be maintained forever (or at least for the next 100 years) is a pipe dream. Physicam games are a way to ensure you still own your games.[1]

[1] A lot of caveats to what I said, mainly due to the fact that gaming consoles are now Internet-connected so the console-maker could technically revoke access to any game at any time if you connect it to the internet. Still, it would be a huge huge breach of trust, and as such very unlikely.

If ownership is reserved for the elite (essentially what you are saying here) then it's not a right, it's just a glitch in the system.

They will have to increase that number now!
Don't follow people saying they are police. In fact, I am pretty sure they can't ask you anything without visible id.

Also, you don't have to answer their questions before they tell you why they are asking those questions. It's none of their business.

I think you are forgetting that laws are responsible for a good chunk of what people perceive/are educated to see as good/wrong honest/dishonest.

Sure the worst atrocities are known to be bad from Religion (10 commandments, which is a law in itself) but many aren't. Speeding, drunk driving, harassment aren't concept that are obviously wrong (as in obvious to people with no guardrails).

So laws aren't useless. The fact that most people respect them actually means they have a purpose.

I tried but OpenCode doesn't have great local model integration. It's just a pain in the ass to set-up.

Plus, you now have zero-data retention models, so the privacy argument has kind of faded.

What's the advantage compared to mhtml?
> and a clear marker that the speaker is not native, similar to getting adjectives in the 'wrong' order

I would think that if you say you are French, then everyone know you aren't native anyway. Maybe it's actually a good way, it can distinguish between true natives and false natives

France'a Gendarmerie (one of two branch of law-enforcement) has switched to linux for more than a decade. There is little reason to think they are bluffing. Furthermore, the groundwork has been laid for months, with forks being worked on.

I understand your take generally, but here I don't understand the skepticism.

(2) Do you mean not yet charged or not yet convicted ?

Because I can get you would want to shield some people from persecutions (just or unjust) from your successor, but I see no reason why you would be able to pardon someone charged but waiting for trial. This makes a mockery of justice, the public can't discover the facts but more importantly: why pardon someone that is still considered innocent ?

Exactly, this is so flawed. Anthropic themselves said they only reported <1% of the vulnerabilities found, cause the rest is unpatched.

Give open models an environment (prior to Feb 15- so no Mythos-discovered vulns are patche) of Linux and see how many vulnerabilities it can find. Then put it in a sandbox and see if it can escape and send you an e-mail.

Re:EFF is leaving X on Friday April 10, 2026 @07:35AM (#47716552)
Interesting indeed. The story doesn't seem to be radically different on TikTok. It goes up to 15K views, that's still 3 times less than X.

Seems clear while their reach has decreased over time, it's still the highest on X.

I do agree with the decision, but declining reach is not the primary reason, it is merely what got them over the line.

I agree. What people forget is Snowden didn't intend to end up in Russia. He wanted to go from Hong Kong (where he tought he would be safe, but realised extradition still was an option) to Ecuador. But he feared US would intercept his plane if he went over US/US allies sky. So his plan was to go from HK to Russia, then to Cuba and finally Ecuador.

Russia stopped him because US had cancelled his passport.

I use models with OpenRouter, and only have this models with OpenAI models. That's why I don't use them.
I tested Gemini 3 Flash (no visible reasoning trace). It gave me a choice matrix. Said that unless it was getting soap and a sponge, I should drive.

Kimi 2.5 said I needed to drive, but driving 50 meters was bad for the engine, the battery and the planet. it then recommended me to push the car, if safe.

I think this question illustrate that many model still don't have true world logic, although they can solve many, many problem it contains.

Also interestingly, the two models I tested didn't consider EVs.

I really hope the next iPhone with Satellite connectivity not limited to SOS will help for that.

At the same time, I can see Apple caving to Iran governement - or China's - and restrict this feature to countries where it is legal.

The point is you can share it anywhere very easily.
