Re:Hamas' social media following has skyrocketed on Tuesday October 17, 2023 @06:50AM (#37913050)
Hamas and Palestine are two different entities. Considering a march for Palestine as support for Hamas is a big stretch. You wouldn't consider a protest in support of Israel as backing Likud would you?
Huge problem over in the UK, its called land banking. The scarcity of affordable property combined with some silly planning laws mean that you can double your money if you buy land and simply sit on it for a decade.
Stationary, this has already been done. It does require a heat exchanger aswell rather than getting a direct current out.
I'm pretty disappointed in this from the Met, although I thought my opinion couldn't go lower of them they have managed it. This is not the US, any use of force by the state against citizens should be scrutinised and if warranted officers should be punished. There have been alot of FUD about this case from the press and online but the only questions that matters is "Did the officer have reason to believe that their or another persons life was in imminent danger?" A Judge and Jury will decide that as the CPS believe there is a case to answer.
you wouldn't have seen a video its not been released yet.
Hilarious, Space grade titanium and the thing cracks like an egg.
I hadn't thought of it as a redundancy, Thanks for the perspective shift. It is damming however that our institutions have become so useless and out of reach to the majority of people that we have to implement these obviously flawed system.
Well the lack of focus on family and making it economically, culturally and politically beneficial to younger people especially women to have children would be an extremely obvious one.

You're exactly right, I think the watch form factor is where I see it going aswell. I can't understand why companies are throwing millions into developing a light weight Pipboy as the next big think. A phone is mostly a content consumer at this point. Sell me screen freedom with voice as the primary interface for the OS.

Re:Tired of Dating Apps, Some Turn to Google Docs on Wednesday August 02, 2023 @10:11AM (#36971154)
Modern dating apps are terrible because they have taken all the mechanics used in the gambling industry and use that to fleece users. I hope this generation makes a conscious decision to go backwards in the search for love. Love isn't convenient and its not supposed to be.

Yeah but you have to deal with the homophobia and judgement of other members if you want to date around and not immediately settle. The church had a such huge role in western society but squandered it.
Its clearly a breakdown of politics and the law that they can get away with this scot free globally. How soon before these companies are just attacked by mobs as restitution pollution of an area is in itself a form of violence one that goes seemingly unpunished.
Wouldn't hire him on a supermarket checkout counter, the guy seems insane.
Cost and weight, most people won't see the plastic version as something important and won't invest. Also the weight difference means transport to stores cost orders of magnitude more than the plastic so its more difficult to stock.
You're right no one in Europe can code or uses technology. Hell we're still using dial up internet. Its strange that you equate having huge tech companies that don't paid any onshore tax with a tech boom. Beyond convenience the average US citizen probably hasn't benefited much from the tech boom certainly not economically.

Re:The Hypocrisy of Mandatory Diversity Statements on Tuesday July 04, 2023 @08:16AM (#36585648)
I haven't seen this angle discussed, could you explain further?
Or you could keep your jobs and move to a lower cost of living area making us of more space?
The message is to shareholder/investors;"This is defensible, We have moat".
Also Equator adjacent countries being hot meaning that they aren't really needed.
Communication is key in this scenario, You've got to be explaining an under estimation as soon as you know it is.

Does he still have one?
Why it gave me a chuckle too? Not everyone is an expert on everything here.
Re:Europe to ChatGPT: disclose your sources on Friday April 28, 2023 @05:01AM (#35739039)
Sorry doesn't look like your are getting it. Its not about AI its about personal data. Whether AI is using this or any other program, EU citizens have a right to know and request removal of that personal data. Open AI need to allow users to do this same as anybody else if this reveals trade secrets then so be it.
This is very interesting, I thought that with PSD2 this would lead to banks developing their own solution which more than a few did. I can see what this really offers in a post PSD2 world other than a brand. I don't see Mastercard of Visa being to worried for the moment either but if I'm Klarna I'd be looking to integrate with this ASAP and you've got a serious bemoth.

It's called a teacher you find them in schools. If you pay them properly and give them adequate resources they can achieve these goals. You also add in libraries and other places where kids can learn independently.
