It's just bitcoin I'm storing, is that one I've linked to above a non-custodial wallet or a custodial wallet?
Can anyone tell me how to set up a wallet on my Mac in order to get my coins off coinbase. Is there any clear guide on how to do that. Every link on Google seems to be spam or downloading potentially malicious software.
It's very fustrating because so many people seem to know how to set up a wallet on their computer/Mac however I cannot for the life of me find a clear wallet to download and move my funds to or a guide on how to do it.
If I downloaded this - https://bitcoin.org/en/download - is that a way to do it? I can't download this in the UK, so is it safe to download it via a VPN and install it that way?
Thank you so much to anyone who sees this and replies.
One massive I'd add to this list that got added recently - being able to copy and paste text out of images. I'm so often sent a screenshot with a url in the url bar, I can now copy and paste that screenshot of a url. It's been massively the past month since I noticed it. Not sure how long it's been there, I assume not long, maybe last OS update.
Looks great! Two things you could do to make it super smooth is speed up the animation by about two thirds, and make it so one book is put back before the second one gets animated outwards.
Reminds me of the time I didn't go into do-no-disturb on a screenshare, I got four messages off my other half in quick succession:
"You didn't defrost the pie."
"I can't find anything else good to eat."
"We're going to have to take your parents for fried chicken again."
"FFS, I've fallen over the cat into the clothes dryer."
Just spin up a Rails app, pop on a Postgres DB, tailwind CSS, job done.
(Only half joking.)
I'm not sure I agree with most of these, it's not the way I'd go about them, but also I don't see what I do in the comments so I'll add my own hopefully unique perspective here. For example with:
"you are overcomplicating this"
I would put it in the 3rd person or include myself in the problem, and I would apologise at the start for saying something negative, so I would say for example:
"Sorry, but I think we're overcomplicating this, what do we think about the following idea..."
I've found that works fantastically because I'm sort of saying I'm wrong or have caused an issue (I haven't) and they're included in my suggested solution (they're not really) so it makes a great way to change peoples minds (if you don't mind pretending you're having a bad idea too and giving them credit for yours).
I apply this to everything and it works great. You get a lot of people taking credit for your good ideas, but I don't mind if it means the solution is better.
To play devil's advocate (?), I use them all the time at work, I could argue that it makes me more efficient. Easier to react with a thumb emoji and grinning emoji than than saying "thank you very much for that". However if I argue that it's not strictly true, I use them because they're quick yes, but I also thin they're fun too.
Edit - In the (?) I put a goblin and clipboard emoji to represent 'devil's advocate' but it got stripped out, if you were wondering what that was.
Totally agree. You're describing Hanlon's razor. No malace behind blocking it, just a result of incompetence.

Well I've not heard my recent search results summerised better than that. What a perfect description.
When I was staying at my parents over the winter holidays, after they'd gone to be at 9pm, my wifi went down and I had to troubleshoot what on earth was up with my laptop. Turns out my dad turns off the router every night to save energy, it was pretty low on my list of things that might be wrong with the wifi.
When I saw the title I briefly thought this was a re-launch of Pownce, the Twitter competitor.
I absolutely agree that Disulfiram is an awful drug to treat alcohol abuse with, it feels like conversion therapy for taking a drink. Also, there is no fixing of the underlying issue at all with this drug (I'm pointly saying that conversion therapy is used to fix a problem that doesn exist).
I've seen a family member successfully win over an alcohol abuse issue by changing their job and getting therapy after detoxing safely in a hospital. Disulfiram should be bottom of the list for anyone, I've not heard of Naltrexone, but a quick google makes it sound like a superb option too.
I'm in the rare category here, but I've got around 50% hearing loss and I love it. I can't hear alarms, or dogs, or radios etc. It's fantastic for living in the city. I've tried a hearing aid and it's like... "this is awful". I just put one in for tv or the theater or parties and that's about it.
I think Elon Musk is a free speech absolutist, so woke people - or who are against social injustice and racism - will remain on Twitter. (Which I personally think is a good thing.)
This is going to sound naive, but I've zero idea how to draw my coins out of Coinbase and put them on my Mac / memory stick. I can't seem to find any legitimate source of info on how to do it.
I feel like this is really obvious, but writing tests for everything, you're not necessarily saving time right now, but it is an investment in saving 10x time later when someing 100 miles away in a different files breaks and it's been caught, as opposed to it creating a support ticket in a week or two.
Wow, I've never thought of "functional programming, immutability, state machines, reactive programming" as time savers, just better ways of coding stuff, I'm a self-taught engineer and literally all of these just seem like correct way to code stuff beacuse it's much smoother and less faff.
I had a similar, not the same, but similar feeling playing Overcooked¹ with friends. After 30 minutes not one of us was having fun, we were all stressed and trying to tell each other what to do in a fairly annoyed way, which wasn't like any of us. I quite like my job so it was actually worse than work.
1. "A chaotic couch co-op cooking game for 1-4 players. Working as a team, you and your fellow chefs must prepare, cook and serve up a variety of tasty orders before the baying customers storm out in a huff."
I read the comment here and haven't see what helped me, so I thought I'd chime in although I might be a bit late to the thread...
I stopped trying to be 'funny' in terms of what everyone else thought was funny - such as like making popular tv references, joshing little things, or 'dad' jokes.
Then started to actually say out loud my own sense of humor, which is absurdist. It changed everything for me, like if you're trying to tell jokes, the only thing that matters is if you find them funny, that is confidance, saying somthing silly you love instead of trying super hard to make others laugh. That was a turning point for me. I guess the advice is 'be yourself' or 'you do you' but that sounds so basic, but it is also true, you'll relax if you stop trying so hard and just be yourself.
A potassium IV should not be painful in the sligtest, it should just be a tiny pin prick when it's going in. Something went wrong if that was hurting.
Well I have to say, the Gen-Z design at the end is full of life and I love it, it embodies fun which is exactly what I want to have on a date.
I think this is quite an opinionated version of nicer and better. I'm personally not a fan of the thin fonts. If it was framed as a class of CSS styles to make websites have that style of super-thin fonts I'd be ok with it. My issue with this is the framing of what the CSS library is.
This is naive question, but I think a valid one, and I'd love to know what you think, is using a domain name to sign in, just moving the issue of losing an account to the domain provider? So instead of Google, your host controls your sign-in instead?
Joing a few different sports clubs and you might find a sport you like. I joined the boxing one and it turned out I really like it (I do not like football that's for sure). The best thing is everyone goes to the pub after so it's a great way to make a few new friends, there will be one or two people there you get on great with. I did try about maybe 10 sports before I settled on boxing, I even tried yoga and spinning, which both were not for me too.
Great article. Thanks very much for it. There's a typo in the heading "Or how to play YouTube videos on you SONOS, easy and for free." I think might want "your SONOS" instead. :)
Thanks for this, super detailed. Which wallet would you recommend? I want to just securely store my Bitcoin, not on an exchange, but I'm happy to buy it there to start with.
