A vast conspiracy theory involving tens of thousands of actors isn't possible.

Yes? Because trials would make the formulation less timely, and therefore less efficacious.

They've done this on the flu shot for YEARS.

Or are you implying that a reason for fast tracking must necessarily be nefarious?

Remember when everybody became so concerned about myocarditis from vaccines? This guy. He claimed that everybody would get permanent immunity from infection, too. Well, folks are getting COVID repeatedly - I guess the immunity claim was bunk? And now we've plenty of data on how COVID ravages the circulatory system, with orders of magnitude more people affected versus vaccines. He hasn't changed his tune.

In summary, antivax

Re:Jack Dorsey texts Elon Musk, March 26, 2022 on Friday September 30, 2022 @03:54PM (#33039933)
I am not a fan of Jack and am an outspoken skeptic of Elon, but I agreed heartily with the contents of the texts.
Re:Liquorice flourishes in salty soils of the dried-up Aral Sea on Wednesday September 21, 2022 @09:53PM (#32933984)
Yeah, people have died from licorice! I think you can have a few pieces a day without a problem. Just don't have a pack a day.

I love Dutch licorice, the less readable the label the better. I look for the stuff that is "zacht" & "zout" (salty and soft).

Thermal runaway is a contagious failure mode.
I'm surprised they don't use LiFePO4? Safer, vastly more charge cycles, and it's not like packaging is a big deal.
Re:Crypto Winter, or Crypto Ice Age? on Thursday July 14, 2022 @01:53PM (#32099339)
The settlement delay isn't there for technological reasons. People think they want instant! fast! until they lose their life savings because libertarian tech has no buffers.
Re:Crypto Winter, or Crypto Ice Age? on Thursday July 14, 2022 @01:52PM (#32099326)
It's the latter, right? I can wire USD hundreds of thousands from my bank for $25, and the transaction takes place within an hour or two.
Re:ChromeOS Flex is now ready to scale to PCs and Macs on Thursday July 14, 2022 @01:51PM (#32099315)
Google bought Neverware.
I guess it's "yay, filter bubbles" in 2022?
Awesome. I hope that I won't have to wait long in line to get it.
The cries of racism really ring hollow when they're talking about actions of a government, not a people or a culture.
Sure. My most vivid memory of the 2003 protests was all the Bush fans in the crowd.
This is what "limited government" looks like.
Re:A Kernel Hacker Meets Fuchsia OS on Saturday May 28, 2022 @03:58PM (#31543250)
Capability based operating systems require that your program possess something, like a handle, in order to do something privileged. Don't have the handle, can't do the thing. It's not about consulting ACLs or bitmasks or whatever.

As a European you are welcome by default. Look around; you are not a persecuted minority.
Re:Lost at sea? This desalination unit fits in a suitcase on Saturday May 28, 2022 @03:47PM (#31543152)
Exactly! My point is that the fact that mechanical RO units exist and are small shouldn't detract from the utility of the purely electrical solution in the fine article.
Re:Lost at sea? This desalination unit fits in a suitcase on Saturday May 28, 2022 @03:27PM (#31542980)
RO units require a lot of maintenance.
Re:Ford’s first electric F-150 delivery on Friday May 27, 2022 @04:04PM (#31534243)
Tesla made a partnership with a battery company, too. They used Panasonic's batteries during their formative years. Why is Tesla beholden to different rules when scaling up?
Re:Ford’s first electric F-150 delivery on Friday May 27, 2022 @01:53AM (#31526407)
Have we seen anything besides prototypes of the Cybertruck?
He then showed his erect penis to her.
Rust is quite a challenging language.
Not using filters is huge! RO watermakers are really sensitive to poor quality water. Algae from last year's heat wave knocked out a lot of watermakers in Pacific waters.
Jordan Peterson had a horrible time with these drugs and resorted to extreme measures to get off them (eight days in an induced coma!) Even today he might still be on them - he is pretty cagey about his present pharma situation when asked about it on podcasts.

Horrible drug.

Re:Tilde.town is a computer meant for sharing on Saturday May 14, 2022 @05:05PM (#31382434)
Ah, shell accounts! Such nostalgia. I ran an Eggdrop bot on one for years. Great way to dip my toes into Linux-land.
That's the core of every MLM sales pitch.
Who are these "elites", exactly?
IIRC their cameras are videoconference grade webcam FHD sensors. Lots of noise in that signal.
Tesla is reckless when it comes to pushing out half baked features, because OTA software updates allows them to ask for forgiveness later. They move faster than the NHTSA can respond.
