Re:What Lua scripting means for Wikimedia and open source on Monday March 18, 2013 @02:13PM (#5396046)
I think the use of Lua language doesn't prevent Wikipedia to provide these features in future.

They are more resolving server performance issues. The client processing is not to be affected.

Is the motivation something like "we can't install some kind of PHP and a database for you"?

Re:Rails Has Turned into Java on Wednesday February 20, 2013 @03:35PM (#5253152)
My bank uses a security module written in Java. I had to switch from Google Chrome to Firefox because Java 7 for Mac doesn't have a compatible version for Chrome.

Mysteries from Oracle.

And it was the most amazing GitHub hack I saw in my life.
