I'm guessing it's less about the AI in search and more about making sure kids are exposed to the larger Gemini ecosystem
why don't they have a focused writing model along with their coding focused models?
I've had multiple keyboard cases for iPads from Apple that didn't have trackpads built-in ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Jobs died 15 years ago, and since then, Apple has been successfully selling iPads in vertical/laptop like configuration for nearly a decade.
There are prod issues, then there are issues that cost me money as a customer.
Then why are they hiring people?
Sometimes it doesn't, but it's tough to see because of the volume of what you have to wade through
So would it be better to not get one of these implants?
There's obviously some kind of quality floor, it's odd that folks are pretending otherwise.
Define soon? I'd put a lot of money on the current crop of OS's still being dominant in 10 years. Most folks don't care enough to switch let alone "vibe" their own replacement software.
> We can talk for ages about the quality of the robot's work, the maintainability of the resulting home
All of this stuff is so new, and we're supposed to hand wave away quality and maintainability?
We're on a forum filled with a lot of software engineers, and we might be too ready to believe this is coming for everyone's job, not only generating code.
I’m personally more interested in their Antique review tool. Does anyone have any details on how it works and what it does?
Anthropic says they don’t think Scion is worth a wide release.
> Practically speaking, it’s difficult to offer Scion in a form that would be broadly useful to other organizations. It diverges significantly from git, meaning companies would need to migrate every piece of the development lifecycle, and it requires its own code review, code search, and CI. Our internal versions of these components are highly bespoke, so they would be difficult for other organizations to adopt, and we worry that attempting to build a public version that tries to please everyone wouldn’t actually be very useful.
Silicon Valley tech, including LLM based AI, is extraordinary at manipulating the digital world. I don’t think we have the evidence that it can cross into and manipulate the physical world in the same way.
Pangram told me 89%.
In any event, I thought it was pretty readable, unlike most AI slop posts we’re subjected to these days.
What does practical mean to you?
Yeah, but if you’re specifying things at that level, you’re probably not saving any time over just typing it yourself.
It says that memory is supply constrained?
then technically the internal models are the frontier
Developers don’t even like to pay for their own code editors. Something they used to work in all day.
Yikes. The old posters had an austere beauty
a filling in of gaps in memory through the creation of false memories by an individual who is affected with a memory disorder (as Korsakoff syndrome) and is unaware that the fabricated memories are inaccurate and false
vs.
a sensory perception (such as a visual image or a sound) that occurs in the absence of an actual external stimulus and usually arises from neurological disturbance (such as that associated with delirium tremens, schizophrenia, Parkinson's disease, or narcolepsy) or in response to drugs (such as LSD or phencyclidine)
There are degrees. Bernie Madoff died in prison. AT&T was broken up. Microsoft was strictly regulated.
The law, as practiced in the United States, protects but does not bind elites, whereas the law binds but does not protect the lower classes.
In the U.S. we hardly had what you’d call “lockdowns”, more like government suggestions that you shouldn’t expose yourself or your loved ones to a potentially deadly virus. Restaurant goers, teachers, commuters, and others wanted to avoid sickness and death, so many organically avoided activities that would leave them exposed.
Forties isn’t old. You might not have the energy reserves of a younger person, but you shouldn’t feel like your brain is mush.
Yeah, that conclusion was nonsense. Perhaps hedging so he doesn’t sound like a crank?
