The Mozilla rep who created that thread (not the reporter, to be clear), created https://emudhra.we-have-a-problem.com/, so I suspect that this page is better for general public disclosure.

With that being said, that Bugzilla is the best thread to understand "how the fuck did this happen?"

> e.g. Apex Legends, a game that ran well on Linux until October 2024 when Respawn decided to actively block it from joining online matches by toggling a flag in EAC.

Right, because they warranted EAC’s Linux offering as insufficient for protecting their titles from cheaters.

The proposed solution from Epic would resolve that.

Re:Google ending ChromeOS support two years early on Tuesday September 29, 2026 @11:12AM (#49894729)
Are they planning on replacing ChromeOS Flex? It has been a fantastic choice for me to put onto older computers that some relatives own.

Tried out the first 1000 words in Pangram, and it seemed happy it was human written. Not surprised either, it has been some of the better writing I've seen out of Cloudflare recently.

It had like two releases after ~2-3 years of hype, too. Maybe long, back when it was called eul.
Re:Hugging Face is billing OpenAI $100M for hacking it on Tuesday September 15, 2026 @03:11PM (#49717353)
a) So, this is all from July?

b) And this is before Hugging Face agreed to acquired by NVIDIA, supplier to OpenAI?

Re:OpenAI agents carried out an undisclosed attack on RubyGems on Saturday September 12, 2026 @07:35AM (#49671285)
Ruby Central's central backer is Shopify, and Shopify are more than happy to be buds with OpenAI and let this one slide. I'm sure the token donation [0] to a Shopify board members' Linux project won't hurt things either.

Re:On the Navier–Stokes Millennium Prize Problem on Tuesday September 08, 2026 @01:56PM (#49614014)
I thought one of the issues was that they wanted to remove credit from Levant, the aforementioned Anthropic collaborator? Which doesn't make sense to me if he was leaking information, or defecting to OpenAI, but I might be misunderstanding your point.
It would be better if we could see the other variables explicitly listed i.e. are they the same price (or same price for a comparable spec), what do the reviews for both vehicles look like, etc.
Re:O&O ShutUp10 – The antispy tool for Windows 10 and 11 on Friday September 04, 2026 @08:51AM (#49563865)
Huge fan of this. I run it once on a fresh format, and then I never have to worry about Windows annoying me again.

(And no, I simply do not like Linux or even macOS enough to switch over, despite being perfectly competent. That, and I play video games that will never be compatible.)

Re:How accurate have Ed Zitron's AI skeptic predictions been? on Tuesday September 01, 2026 @04:03PM (#49527335)
> - environmental like emissions and water usage

Water usage, sure. But emissions has plenty of reasonable concern.

There are the various xAI data centers have/are running using mobile gas turbines.

In general, the extreme amount of power is going to put pressure on the grids. I hope this leads to the world doubling down on renewables to offset it all, but is that going to happen? Hell, the US actively paid [0] to stop a turbine project.

Re:How accurate have Ed Zitron's AI skeptic predictions been? on Tuesday September 01, 2026 @03:49PM (#49527132)
Zitron in general is representative of the conspiratorial thinking that has infected all spectra of the political space. Zitron obviously occupies more of the left space.

Good critique of LLMs & the companies behind them is hard to find, and it is harder when people gravitate towards this sort of thinking.

God I wish I could’ve shorted NVIDIA right now
I believe Firefox was the first to put out a standards position about adopting jxl if a Rust implementation happened. Chromium only aligned their position this year I believe, prior to that, it was a complete rejection.

Which is to say, Chrome followed Firefox here.

(Yes, I know Google Research implemented jxl-rs, but then, they also implemented jxl. Chrome’s position appears independent of them.)

Re:OpenAI JalapeñO: Better Than Nvidia Blackwell on Tuesday August 25, 2026 @01:54PM (#49437932)
This is most impressive. The interesting question to me, is outside of the LLM accelerator space: will generalized chips have massive leaps in performance once LLM technology is used to create the next generation? In general, will we see rapid advances while we extract the value of these models in creating architectures? I'm so far removed from the space that this is a very naive interpretation of all this, but I'm curious.
Re:Firefox intent to ship: JPEG XL on Monday August 24, 2026 @12:26PM (#49422161)
For all the furore, I think the best outcome happened here. Both browsers used their weight to get a memory-safe implementation out, and now we can all benefit from a new file format with a significantly reduced attack surface.

Re:Databricks drove down AI coding spend 70% on Friday August 07, 2026 @06:03PM (#49216774)
You can use both of those harnesses without going through subscription. That is a native feature in both Codex & Claude Code, even for non-enterprise customers.
Re:Databricks drove down AI coding spend 70% on Friday August 07, 2026 @04:08PM (#49215592)
... where in the article did they say they were using subscriptions? I'm fairly certain enterprises can't access subscription pricing in any case, they're all API costs (Anthropic doesn't support more than 150 on subscription pricing [0][1]).

I'm fairly certain the person being quoted is saying the opposite of what you've implied - i.e. he thinks it is concerning THAT GrapheneOS is automatically associated with criminality.
