"Depression of value" aka "making housing more affordable".
Once upon a time radio might have seemed like a perfectly reasonable topic for "Hacker" news...
How is it a business if not for money?
I appreciated it. The article was too verbose in my view
Patrick Stewart portrayed the sort of characters we desperately need more of. A modern day Atticus Finch, in a sense. To boldly speak truth, even when inconvenient, and argue, eloquently, for humanity, even after becoming machine.
I hope our current environment is one that can elevate someone of similar talents to an equivalent stature, but I worry our media is not up to the task.
When I think of our civilization, the Ressikan Flute often comes to mind.
Pour one out.

I asked my doctor here in the Netherlands about a test (mid 40's male, my dad has had several polyps removed) and he said to come back when I was bleeding out of my ass...
I apologise, I was thinking of laws about long grass being a nuisance but having looked in to it more it’s better than I thought, wildflower meadow seems ok.
Certainly in the UK and Ireland there are controls. Same here in NL too.
But grass is annoying and killing it is good
But wet have lots of cool up lighting to highlight your McMansion at 3AM!
Also undisturbed grass is great for ground nesting birds! We saw them return when we left a field fallow in Ireland. Less helpful in suburbia admittedly
Thanks. My question was genuine since I thought most places didn’t require it for small (e.g. balcony) solar
My wife and I are working parents. This is nightmarish. We know screen kids and they are not good around other people.
Our kids use tech - Nintendo Switch, tv, raspberry pis, and yes, even a tablet for things like train or plane rides. But they absolutely did not get this as a toddler. Yes we were tired. Yes it was hard. Parenting isn't easy.
In the UK it's common to refer to companies in the plural. "Nike have announced..." etc. . I like it. It's a reminder that they are in fact companies of people, not abstract entities.
I was being sarcastic, to be clear. Though it's funny that people clearly cherish parking over most other things in this world, but are willing to pay nothing for it.
You're right about fares being a useful tool to filter for antisocial behaviour. After becoming a parent I became a lot less tolerant of horrible behaviour on trains and buses. Luckily I rarely encounter it here in the Netherlands (Ireland was worse, but still not atrocious, depending on the area)
True, but with autonomous agents hitting 2,000 requests is a lot easier.
Very true. This is why they don’t appreciate roads or parking.
Please elaborate on how having more housing increases housing scarcity
this isn't a guy who built the railroads here
Seems like FCC enforcement occurred because traffic enforcement was lacking, leaving everyone less safe as a result.
So far, in Europe, I find a snail-mailed nastygram referencing the gdpr to be the best way to get actual service. It’s slow, though.
Was this provable? If you were the dad would you risk it?
Well, it gets you seated. Elected is a different question.
Yeah there’s a few other ones (and don’t get me wrong, I like the cheese here, just perplexed there’s not much variety)
Sure would love a good Monterey jack or cotija though.
Hah, then there’s the Netherlands where I was excited for the cheese until I realised it’s basically just Gouda. It’s good! But almost all the cheese is Gouda. Kinda strange there isn’t much variety (except for putting different stuff in Gouda)
He might have been afraid of what she’d do to the kids if he divorced her.
Once upon a time WhatsApp had a j2me client…
Though I see signal usage creeping upwards. Maybe just my circle
