Re:Apple introduces the new 14‑inch MacBook Pro with M6 on Tuesday October 27, 2026 @03:41PM (#50264679)
I’d love for games to work on a Mac too. I just can’t justify paying through the nose for a PC when I hate using it for everything else.
Paywalled. :-/
Re:Ask HN: What iOS/Android do you use for Hacker News on Tuesday June 08, 2021 @11:10AM (#27436219)
Safari. Like OP, I used MiniHack for a while. Got a new device and started using Safari and it's been fine.

Heading is low value clickbait for a post that amounts to: "use our tool".
Same goes for Georgia. Brian Kemp is currently the Secretary of State of Georgia and has indicated he will not step down. https://www.wabe.org/kemp-robust-systems-will-keep-georgia-e...

https://www.wabe.org/candidates-set-abrams-kemp-will-compete...

It's not good.

"On July 3, Marks' organization and state voters filed their lawsuit, and on July 7, technicians at KSU wiped the server. When the case later moved to federal court in August, technicians wiped at least one additional server one day after a federal judge was assigned to the case."

Why the shot at COBOL here? COBOL's creation of "real world value" by comparison is hardly a low bar: https://thenewstack.io/cobol-everywhere-will-maintain/

I'll forward this thread to the devs. Maybe that's a feature they'd be interested in adding.
Re:Banks should let COBOL die on Wednesday April 26, 2017 @11:57AM (#14204123)
This is how I learned. The team I was on consisted of several entry-level people who were taught COBOL. After a couple years or so most of us have moved on to better compensated positions at other companies.

Small businesses are doing this as well (where I learned COBOL). Having experienced it, I do not feel there's really anything wrong with COBOL itself. The language is verbose and relatively straightforward, however it requires a different approach from what most people are used to.
