Node.js! It can help you collaborate with more teams. Lots of reusable code in the ecosystem.
Hi. I also work at Ultra Mobile on the SRE team. All the SRE positions are indeed fully remote.
You may contact me using my profile information if you are interested in getting some questions answered.
Interested. How to apply?
Twitter? Depends on your focus, I think. Dev Twitter is pretty nice for me.
pyenv and pyenv-virtualenv
Until the open source options have direct download options that 'just work', Quicken is the best.
I've tried GnuCash and Skrooge, can't ever get the direct downloads to work for more than two months without breaking.
What are your performance requirements?
If you have none, this is probably a pre-optimization.
I've been rolling SSM out at work; 10/10 would do again.
Go might be useful since Terraform uses Go.
Try to focus on what your shop has already. Solve their problems first.
I'm joining a shop in the new year that was impressed by my use of the Serverless framework. Impress them.
Sounds like a '50% corresponding hours' for a minute late.
Heroku has a 'no credit card free tier'; I can't blame them.
Thanks for posting! Devs now have another anecdote.
Howdy! Are all open engineering positions possible for remote? or just some?
Thanks
12-ish person dev team: CTO has a filter on copyleft licenses for projects intended for distribution. And I don't blame him.
I've been warning the other new people since I've been asked. I'm also new-ish.
I've tried the 'x% discount for y guaranteed amount of hours' pitch before. It doesn't really work; most potential clients are still thinking about the '$z/hour' that you told them before the pitch.
Perhaps! 2.0 has Babel Macros. I think this may allow user changes to config without rolling the react-scripts package to npm with your changes.
I think there is a market for this and started building on a similar idea last week.
I applied to the open SRE position but got passed because they require EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) timezones. That was not listed anywhere on the posting or title/subtitle.
Can this get fixed?
Hi! The Devops Envangelist Remote link is broken.
Where is lack of vacation time categorized into this? There are too many answers.
Little late, but:
Will Psyonix ever open up any positions to remote?
Thanks!
I like your pitch. And, you've got a ton of response here on HN.
I'm a bit late to the game here, but maybe we can jive. I have various ideas in the cryptocurrency space. Solo founder, working for 3.5 years on various ideas. I'm into private fund growth and market data/pipeline sales. Willing to meet about my recent pivot (to market data sales) and the need for partners on my end.

I have recently finished (today) some ETL work with Pandas. Pandas touts time series resampling features that are hard to match anywhere else.
Disclaimer: Contributed performance improvements to Pandas around two years ago.
> As to their actual work, as long as the eight hours get done ...
If it's remote, how do you measure that eight hours? In addition, how many of that eight hours do you believe a competent developer focuses for?
Has replacing scripts with Python worked well for you?
Context: I have the same feelings about Bash.
Probably not. I imagine the deprecation period for this change will be measured in years.
Elixir is Ruby-like syntax on the Erlang VM. So, Rubyists enjoy it.
Yes! Elasticsearch and associated tools.
Their docs are solid. Packages available for many platforms. The tutorial is straightforward. Kibana is excellent for real-time time series graphing.
(I'm really biased because of the last sentence.)
Thanks! Feel free to continue the conversation through my listed GitHub e-mail.
