Re:Why AI Can't Replace Engineering Teams on Friday October 23, 2026 @01:11PM (#50212265)
Ai can't replace any engineering team but when one senior engineer uses AI to perform tasks, the two can replace several mid engineers.
Re:Facebook now charging to post more than 2 links a month on Tuesday October 20, 2026 @12:22PM (#50168756)
I didn't know this and kept sharing links on my new page and it was banned from posting.I tried to look for support but just received responses from bots all the time and no human review until I gave up. I ended up starting another page.
Re:More engineers should consider working in sales on Monday October 19, 2026 @02:18PM (#50155903)
As an engineer turned solo founder, I had to learn this the hard way. I used to think sales was only convincing people to buy your product, only to find out that it is actually listening and helping them to decide if your product solves their problem.
How are you handling local vs cloud processing for the media generation?

Congratulations on shipping.

Re:Namecheap just seized and disabled all my domains on Sunday October 18, 2026 @03:28PM (#50144446)
I meant for people with multiple domains.
Re:Namecheap just seized and disabled all my domains on Sunday October 18, 2026 @03:23PM (#50144396)
Does this mean we should not always entrust our domains with only one registrar?
This would increase debugging issues. Written codes can be easily reviewed incase of a bug, while AI codes can simply be reviewed by AI itself.
I am also building an app that converts web pages to Markdown. How do you handle messy scans and tables?
Waiting for you
In Uganda carrying two phones is completely normal. Many people have one for work and one for personal use, or simply because they can afford a second phone. Police wouldn't think twice about it.
Re:Show HN: PS2 games statically recompiled to WebAssembly on Monday October 12, 2026 @09:39AM (#50056325)
This is good, I didn't know 3DS could handle PS2 emulation.

What's the performance like on heavier titles?

How are you handling local transcription? We opted for an offline-first for FetchMark archiver for same privacy reason and it doubled our retention.

Congrats on shipping!

Re:Apple/macOS silently removed from official Unix registry on Saturday October 10, 2026 @04:51PM (#50037044)
Thanks for explaining.

That grep/sed difference on mac caused me issues so many times, always thought it was just Apple doing their own thing. I didn't realize it was a spec thing.

Re:Apple/macOS silently removed from official Unix registry on Saturday October 10, 2026 @04:24PM (#50036784)
I didn't realize macOS was actually certified UNIX since 2007, thought it was just marketing.

Is this Apple just not wanting to pay for the certification anymore or does it actually change anything for us devs?

Re:Temporal Continuity API on Friday October 09, 2026 @02:16AM (#50016658)
What's the continuity guarantee here? Is it replay-based like Temporal.io or more like a state snapshot service?
Re:AI scrapers are hiding behind referrer spam on Thursday October 08, 2026 @11:00AM (#50006653)
Easy to miss if you only look at analytics UI. You can only see it when you compare server logs against GA.
Interesting idea it is. How are you verifying real clicks from someone just opening the tab for 2 seconds ?
Re:Meta and Microsoft Limit Employee Use of Claude AI Tools on Wednesday October 07, 2026 @03:16PM (#49997485)
This is not surprising. Every big lab blocks competitor tools for internal use; it is a data governance thing, not a quality statement.
Re:ClipPair – A shared clipboard for Windows and macOS on Wednesday October 07, 2026 @06:56AM (#49990975)
This is Nice! Curious how you are handling the security model for this? Shared clipboard is scary from a secrets perspective.
Re:Vikranthguptha bookmarks: – page: 1 – yabs.io on Tuesday October 06, 2026 @03:15PM (#49982750)
It is a nice setup especially the public bookmarks idea
