Just saw the movie for the first time recently. If anything the movie toned it down for the sake of modern audiences.
It's Claude with a "slang+profanity" filter lol. The cadence is so tired and grating.
It's demonstrably not. This summary, somehow, often fails to search, or fails to read what it searches and gives you the opposite answer. You shouldn't trust it.
Your comment seems to imply there's a good guy in a this. I just see the inevitable end of an era, championed by predictably selfish actors.
From a content point of view, this could've been a tweet (or a toot).
Talking to developers about humanities often highlights how smart we're not.
hahah what a weird take! You don't have any biological imperatives for sex, and dare I say affection? Must be quite the peaceful life indeed!
The number of ridiculous claims in this thread...
First off, all Canadian provinces are different. Here in Quebec, there is a absolutely a private option. Not everyone likes that it exists, but most people seem to like having that option.
Canadians live better for longer on average (for cheaper healthcare overall). Any other metric is just a misguided attempt to justify the US status quo, which has nothing going for it unless you're rich.
Not my experience at all. Ever since Google neutered ABP with this move, it feels like everyone else just gave up the arms race. Which makes sense give how little market share FF now has.
Reads like AI writing again. Can you just post the prompt?
As someone who used to meditate, I don't think you did it wrong. There are many right ways to do it, depending on what you seek.
Maybe it's not what you needed at the moment, especially if you're not an anxious person. But these days most people are anxious or stressed out, and the barest amount of meditation can help tremendously. Or it might do nothing, everyone is different.
You've seen Sam Altman's interviews, yet you still think him a competent man? I think he's rather the embodiment of the death of meritocracy as an idea.
Your dad owning the company?
This is an "uh oh" moment, isn't it?
Surely this is automated. They wouldn't waste precious dollars on employing humans just to keep other humans happy.
They learn if they have to, like we always did. In-person exams (proctored) are good for testing that.
How are people still deluded enough about this economic system to believe rank implies competence?
It also used to be that reddit comments were the epitome of quality in their time, much closer to current HN if not better. I attributed that to the voting mechanism; clearly I was mistaken.
Other commenters laughing at you for the price... It's not about the price it's about the barrier. Even if I love a service, I won't get very many people to try it if they need to enter a credit card.
I seem to remember that's one of the first things they tried, but the general models tended to win out. Turns out there's more to learn from all code/discussions than from just JS.
Indeed, Python's version format is semver but it's just aesthetics, they remove stuff in most (every?) minor version. Just yesterday I wasted hours trying to figure out a bug before realizing my colleague hadn't read the patch notes.
Took them this long to realize MCPs are just worse APIs.
I'm not scared that my skills will be obsolete, I'm scared employers will think they are. The labor market was already irrational enough as it was.
Well, I've worked as a developer in many companies and have never met a DBA. I've met tons of devops, who are just rebranded sysadmins as far as anyone can tell.
Imagine this for a whole neighborhood! Maybe it'd be more efficient for the transport to come at regular intervals though. And while we're at it, let's pick up other people along the way, you'll need a bigger vehicle though, perhaps bus-sized...
Half-jokes aside, if you don't own it, you'll end up paying more to the robotaxi company than you would have paid to own the car. This is all but guaranteed based on all SaaS services so far.
Marvel movies is the worst example, it's a roller coaster ride, not a movie. I agree any braindead idiot or machine could write one. But they couldn't know to write The Pianist or how the subject could be approached or why it's time to write it.
AI can make slop yes, but it can't make the kind of art people don't get tired of. It's the difference between wisdom and knowledge.
> Let's say, just for the sake of argument, that AI can eventually serve to level the playing field for everything. It outputs novels, paintings, screenplays - whatever you ask it for - of such high quality that they can't be discerned from the best human-created works.
This requires the machine to understand a whole bunch of things. You're talking about AGI, at that point there will be blood in the streets and screenplays will be the least of our problems.
Truly a "why say many words" title!
