Re:Ask HN: Should I host projects on their own domain? on Thursday August 15, 2019 @05:49PM (#20710043)
The way I see it, hosting them on your personal website portrays them like a portfolio. If they have potential to grow into something on their own you may want to consider giving them their own website to keep it modular. I agree with you, if you're not going to make money off of them, or they won't grow into an open source sensation (even a minor one), why not just keep it on your personal website?

Very good points, thanks for sharing! To compliment this article, an uncle of mine who had retired as VP of a major airline company started his career there as a janitor. He told me simply, "make the company more money than they're paying you" - by doing so it doesn't make any sense to let you go. This hasn't kept me free from layoffs somehow, but in general it keeps me afloat.
