I agree, and I'm intrigued. What do you do now that you're not in the 'rat race'?

Wrong. That spikes insulin unnecessarily. See The Obesity Code (Fung).

> The trick to weight loss is doing a variety of exercises that make you breathe heavy but not pushing your body too hard

What in the world? Got any scientific reference for that one?

> Walmart offers free 2-day shipping on most goods I would typically order from Amazon,

Yeah because WalMart is just a bastion of ethics. Why not support local businesses? I guess you have to ask what you goal is in quitting Amazon - if it's "sticking it to the man", buying stuff from WalMart is probably even worse, ethically.

That is insanely bad diet. Hilarious. How are your numbers? Btw, meat causes cancer[0].

Keto diets are sketchy science at best. I can't believe anyone still falls for it.

Uhh.. isn't that exactly what Google Photos is?

I am sure he was a Merryman.

Peet's Major Dickason's Blend®. Enough said.

I just use Finder and don't worry about it too much.
Re:How to Quit Antidepressants: Slowly, Doctors Say on Wednesday March 06, 2019 @09:56AM (#19319320)
SSRIs are extremely dangerous and life-altering. I'm definitely not the same and I was only exposed to it [Citalopram] for about a week or so. Look up post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction (PSSD) - possible permanent reduction in libido and overall sexual response. Or anhedonia - complete removal of emotions.

Vitamin D, fish oil, exercise, and improving your diet should be considered before ingesting poison.

HN is not really that mainstream at all.

NYT is a quality journalism outlet, obviously not every article is amazing, but if enough people upvote it, it gets to the front page. It's not some big conspiracy.

Vipassana Meditation - see Mindfulness in Plain English.
I must say this is the sort of quality comment that makes me come back to HN again and again. I've never been fully able to articulate why the "safety" argument is a farce, and I think you've done a cogent, lucid, commendable job here.

No thanks. Milk is garbage, lactose is garbage, and casein causes cancer [0].

No. It actually has solid science behind it.

"Styleless"
Hahaha! Yeah, getting a flat sucks.

With respect to the route: I absolutely love turning down a road I've always wondered "where does that one go?" I've found some of my favorite "go-to" rides from that. It's such a blast. I feel bad for anyone that doesn't know the joy of road cycling.

Re:Don’t Get Clever with Login Forms on Friday February 15, 2019 @03:15PM (#19174301)
I actually totally agree with you. It's insanity. I never made the "jump" to LastPass/BitWarden/etc. because it always left a bad taste in my mouth to have one password that would crack my entire online presence.
Re:Don’t Get Clever with Login Forms on Friday February 15, 2019 @03:05PM (#19174222)
Citibank absolutely sucks for overall UX.

Have they ever heard of input type="password"?

I miss HotBot. Anyone remember that?

Bill Bryson. Enough said.

"A Walk in the Woods" or "Notes from a Small Island" had me in stiches.

Absolutely. Already got a century ride in Vermont planned for June.

Trying to learn guitar!

Work is where you get your paycheck. Treat it just like that. Let it fund your passions.

Cycling, music and meditation keep me sane. And enjoying culture - great film, etc...

Meditation, music, cycling.

Wow. Absolute, complete, and utter pseudoscience. Any references for that one?
