Re:Reddit raises $410M in new funding on Thursday August 12, 2021 @11:15AM (#28157377)
And then you would see a mass exodus of users..
If you don't know how to separate social issues from politics, well shit, that's the whole problem isn't it. Figure it out or continue being a moron dragging civilization back into the dark ages.

Sounds cool, but I value my sleep ;-)
Re:The neuroinvasive potential of SARS-CoV2 on Wednesday March 04, 2020 @02:07PM (#22486811)
Obviously buying masks is discouraged because there is a shortage and hospitals have a much greater need for them than an uninfected person living in location as of yet untouched by the virus. Its about priorities.
1-2 weeks? That seems dangerously optimistic to me.
How about you actually quote it?!

>Robert Bosch LLC provided travel support for us to attend CES 2020. Bosch Sensortec, responsible for the Smartglasses Light Drive, was not aware of nor involved with the travel support.

Re:Problems with TypeScript on Wednesday January 15, 2020 @06:29PM (#22060012)
You don't refactor your code? Fix bugs months after development? I suppose you aren't the target audience..
>Surely trusting the government is a more reasonable policy?

Somebody clearly didn't learn anything about history..

Re:Static TypeScript: A Static Compiler for the TypeScript Language on Wednesday September 04, 2019 @10:32AM (#20877522)
Well I mean that is the point of abstraction.. if we always had to have our heads at the lowest level we would not be productive what-so-ever.
Seems like people assume FB employees are 'gifted' they are technically capable, and emotionally and philosophically infantile.
Re:Google's Project Dragonfly 'Terminated' in China on Wednesday July 17, 2019 @12:28PM (#20461243)
Do you not realize that hundreds of millions of people deserve better than an authoritarian government? If you indeed want a better life for these people, censorship is something you must fight, not acquiesce to.
Re:The New 30-Something on Monday March 04, 2019 @03:42PM (#19305198)
At salaried level people aren't doing things that have hard time constraints. when you are delivering pizzas or working as a cashier your punctuality matters a hell of a lot more, it doesn't take a genius to figure that out, which is why if you fuck up once you're fired, it was literally the one thing they told you not to fuck up.

Of course there are extenuating circumstances, and managers should be more relaxed with people who make an effort (e.g. texting ahead that they are running x minutes late). But the vast majority of cases are not like this. Its people making stupid choices and suffering the consequences, I don't have much sympathy for that.

Renting is a service, of course they don't produce anything. If they weren't providing a service people found valuable (i.e. improving their general welfare) much fewer people would be renting.
Plex doesn't manage your media, it just presents it and makes it accessible, if you want media managers look at Sonarr (https://github.com/Sonarr/Sonarr) and Radarr (https://github.com/Radarr/Radarr)
Re:Unfortunately, we have renewed our ICANN accreditation on Thursday May 21, 2015 @01:30PM (#9584129)
The problem is the WAP doesn't even achieve this goal, it is easily circumvented..
Thanks for posting this. This is not an upgrade, this is the same old crap from two years ago with a little more polish
No Fucking Shit
Terrible and completely misleading headline. The court ruled that the SHARING of surveillance data with NSA was unlawful until this past December. Its another meaningless verdict that effectively supports the gross invasion of individual privacy while claiming to oppose it.
Wow, i thought that was common sense..
Re:Cornell to Digitize a Rich Hip Hop Archive on Thursday December 11, 2014 @07:05AM (#8734290)
There aren't many forms of music I cannot listen to, but Hip Hop is one of them. Can't really call it music to be honest, its just agony to listen to, nothing to feel good about, mindless unintelligible lyrics, caustic sounds, and 'singers' who can't sing to save their life (no autotune does not make you sound any better!).
Re:Before the Startup on Thursday October 02, 2014 @06:13AM (#8400094)
"the checks & balances plus the peer review system for worldwide recognised published research kill and destroy bullshitters"

if only this was true!!

Re:Apple – Privacy – Government Information Requests on Thursday September 18, 2014 @06:24AM (#8334496)
But its something the NSA is more than capable of accomplishing
Re:Male Scent May Compromise Biomedical Research on Tuesday April 29, 2014 @06:41AM (#7666079)
We can only account for variables we can imagine, this is why science is so often proving itself wrong.
Re:Gun – Distributed, embedded graph engine on Monday April 14, 2014 @05:52PM (#7589177)
I have been looking for something just like this! Fantastic
What would evidence of conspiracy look like? Do we need comments in the code, "this is an NSA back door...", seriously?

>You have to be backwords compatible

we have been making this trade off for years and it wont get any easier in the future, its about time we started a fresh initiative that doesn't make backwords compatibility a priority, except of course in the sense of maintainability moving forward.

Re:Coinbase user emails and full names leaked on Wednesday April 02, 2014 @06:09AM (#7514528)
I think you meant to say :

"This is the bullshit excuse they are trying to use to make it SEEM like its not a vulnerability."

Coinbase is deliberately misleading their users regarding privacy if they do not fix this issue!

Re:Coinbase user emails and full names leaked on Wednesday April 02, 2014 @06:07AM (#7514514)
You are a fucking dick for ignoring that guy..just saying
Re:Basecamp was under network attack on Tuesday March 25, 2014 @06:26AM (#7464932)
Yet another reason we should be utilizing P2P WAY more often
Re:Setting the record straight on Tuesday March 18, 2014 @06:28AM (#7421125)
The whatsApp team is disrespecting their users and their users' intelligence. To continue misleading/outright lying to their users is horrific in my opinion.
Re:Setting the record straight on Tuesday March 18, 2014 @06:24AM (#7421114)
How dare you spout such obvious tripe?! You have no say anymore, STFU and stop misleading people!
