just don't use it for writing
Re:The DeepMind Institute on Wednesday September 16, 2026 @02:27PM (#49730996)
I wonder if they could make the font even greyer on that website. MORE GREY because I am still able to read it (bearly).
Re:44% on ARC-AGI-1 in 67 cents on Tuesday September 01, 2026 @03:13PM (#49526630)
Nice. It took me an hour just to understand what this competition is about :)
Re:New Mac Studio with M5 Max and M5 Ultra on Tuesday August 25, 2026 @10:38AM (#49434971)
$5500 for 96GB of RAM? insanely expensive (the MacOs is really bad compared to Windows or Linux).
yeah that's why the trend is now to call all back to the office so that you don't feel too well.
Re:Linear algebra done right on Monday August 17, 2026 @10:44AM (#49331894)
agree, tried both and they are hard as a starter.
Re:Kids Act Would Require Age Checks to Get Online on Monday June 29, 2026 @08:38AM (#48718487)
stupid idea
There is a lot of legislation missing in the world. Partially to blame is corruption (so called lobbying), greed and so.

those idiotic remarks at the end of each answer are so unnecessary and annoying
the title spews evil
Re:Astral to Join OpenAI on Friday March 20, 2026 @04:29AM (#47451956)
ok so the buying frenzy has started. We will end up with a new google basically monopolizing the internet. Only in this case it is much worse. M&As are evil.
Re:A sufficiently detailed spec is code on Thursday March 19, 2026 @04:16AM (#47436352)
I don't agree. The code is much more than the spec. In fact, the typical project code is 90% scaffolding and infrastructure code to put together and in fact contains implementation details specific to the framework you use. And only 10% or less is actual "business logic". The spec doesn't have to deal with language, framework details, so by definition spec is the minimum amount of text necessary to express the business logic and behaviour of the system.
trash ad for linux antivirus. who uses that anyway?
Re:I program without syntax highlighting on Thursday January 08, 2026 @09:42AM (#46541563)
naive approach. waste of time. Learning to code outside an ide is only useful very rarely
Re:I program without syntax highlighting on Thursday January 08, 2026 @09:42AM (#46541545)
naive
Quite a dumb application of quantum physics. Cooling something to near zero, which takes energy, and is complex, and big, in order to obtain precisions which are magnitudes higher than what is necessary. As if one would use CPUs to prop up an uneven table and would boast that they use microelectronics.

"Instead of relying on conventional sensors, these devices use clouds of atoms cooled to near absolute zero. At those temperatures, atoms start to behave strangely — acting as both particles and waves. As the atoms “fall” through a sensor, their wave patterns shift in response to acceleration. Using what’s effectively an ultra-precise optical ruler, the system can read these changes with extraordinary accuracy, without needing satellites at all."

thank you for all you hard work!
great. hopefully the oligopoly will break and ram prices will normalise.

raspberry pi + 2 HDDs and a 2 slot bay (~$150).
Re:What is "good taste" in software engineering? on Monday September 29, 2025 @12:05PM (#45415446)
Readability and maintainability. When a new change is short you know the code has good maintainability, when you have to touch 30 classes to make a change, you know the code is not that well written.
bullshit to increase sales
Re:Radiant Nuclear – Portable Power on Thursday July 31, 2025 @04:45PM (#44749912)
A startup where most of the money were spent on that animation on the website.
they should have called it parliament, not cathedral. BBC don't know the meaning of the word cathedral, or was this intentional to trigger some kind of reaction from religious groups.
bs article paid for by those big corporations.
Re:Accelerating scientific breakthroughs with an AI co-scientist on Wednesday February 19, 2025 @12:03PM (#43104441)
Just as the invention of writing degraded human memory (before that they memorized whole stories, poems), with the advent of AI, humans will degrade their thinking skills and knowledge in general.
One must be naive to not know that all the shampoos, gels, creams, masks and all those introduce various chemicals into our bodies, some are more harmful than others.
Re:Mozilla roll out first AI features in Firefox Nightly on Tuesday June 25, 2024 @07:38AM (#40787217)
Probably no, as they must have an agreement to sell your navigation as training data to those providers.
Re:The Architecture Behind a One-Person Tech Startup on Sunday June 16, 2024 @11:35AM (#40697808)
Stack and the technical part is rarely the important factor in success. The idea and marketing seem to be the important bit. The stack can be the cause of failure, but it can never be the reason for the success of a startup.
