Out of curiosity, why KeePass versus Bitwarden? I've been using Bitwarden for years, but if there's a specific reason I should be using KeePass instead, I'm open to changing.
I found this footage with its overlay from the Dallas Police to be interesting https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXK5mx8NBf4
What do you mean by "Touch ID support"? Bitwarden has Touch ID support.

Reminds me of a tip jet: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tip_jet
Another weird data oddity...it's show Jake Gyllenhall as being born in Los Angeles, Texas, but he's actually from Los Angeles, California.

When I briefly returned to the Windows world, I wrote a quick-and-dirty application that would clean the shortcut links that installs would clutter my desktop with. https://github.com/MattGHarvey/ShortcutCleaner
Wouldn't make much of a difference. The MAGA crowd would just start using even more gas "to own the libs".
I'd love to switch to Jellyfin, but I'm still using Plex as their apps are ubiquitous...It comes pre-installed on most Smart TVs and is available on pretty much every platform.
Kind of reminds me of the M/V Stewart J. Cort: http://www.interlake-steamship.com/our-fleet/m-v-stewart-j.-... The "before" pic is amazing: https://imgur.com/dBydq17
Re:George Bass has died on Sunday March 21, 2021 @06:49AM (#26529512)
I worked for him at INA as a researcher and IT guy while a student at Texas A&M in the 1990s and helped design and build INA's first computer-based system for tracking and tagging artifacts and photographs. We had a couple of early Nikon Coolscans and had interns feed those all day long to scan what had to be hundreds of thousands of negatives and slides...they still hadn't finished by the time I left a couple of years later. Dr. Bass had great stories to tell and I always liked hearing about his adventures. RIP.
Re:Ask HN: Where do you write? on Thursday April 30, 2020 @11:25AM (#23031885)
I self-host a couple of blogs using Wordpress. For over eleven years, I've posted a photo every day at https://www.75centralphotography.com/, but that's not really writing. For writing, I've just recently spun up http://www.robotsprocket.com/ to share ephemera, code and other things I've found interesting. Having played around with Medium, Squarespace and Wix, I find WP to be superior in its flexibility and the fact that I'm ensured that I own the content.
Re:How Bird Laid Off 406 People in Two Minutes via Zoom on Friday April 03, 2020 @12:59PM (#22771432)
One of my previous companies did this same thing, but the meeting where people were being laid off (myself included in that group) was held in the large break room. Everyone was crammed in there while a rep from an outside firm retained to actually do the layoffs read a pre-prepared statement. What made it super-awkward was the vending machine guy was there restocking the Coke machine and no one asked him to leave.
Re:Netflix urged by EU to slow streaming to save internet on Thursday March 19, 2020 @10:18AM (#22627690)
Same here. I work from home and before this whole thing started, I'd generally get ~250 Mbps down. Over the last few days, since people started WFH and kids were out of school, I'm lucky to get maybe 15 Mbps. At one point yesterday, I was getting 1.2. Also have seen DNS resolution issues off and on for the past couple of days.

My idly wondering one day was when in history did the worldwide available compute power (roughly) equal that of my iPhone 11?
Re:Impossible Pork on Tuesday January 07, 2020 @08:31AM (#21979704)
My problem with the Impossible Whopper, at least when I tried it, was that the texture was too much like the bread, so the mouth-feel was off. But maybe I'm so use to eating beef burgers that I expect there to be be gristle/other weird bits to give some texture. I thoroughly enjoy the Beyond Meat burgers, though, as their texture is more meat-like than my admittedly-limited exposure to the Impossible burger.
