I don't understand why this is getting downvoted, I'm surprised as well
I voted with my wallet and apple is still an untouchable giant conglomerate that does whatever it wants, what now chief?
AI generated comics for your CVEs, I can't even anymore
Meh, this is not any different than pypi, npm, crates, and every single other code repository.
Everything you said here can be done with nix as well
How to destroy the entire US economy without firing a single bullet
I'm looking at the generated PHP code they claim to be insecure and I can't see it. The client_secret is defined inside the file as a constant, ok it's sloppy and could be better, but this is not a vulnerability.
They claim the extract line is insecure, but never explain why, and without showing the rest of the code (what is $requiredHeaders? If it's sanitized this is a non issue) you can't even tell if it's secure or not.
The variable names being wrong (the $PayPal- ones) is probably just a "mistake" the model made, but it's not a vulnerability either.
This article could be just "burglars are burgling in your neighborhood, install our burglar alarm" from crowdstrike just as well.
It does not, the protocol just defines the way the bits are exchanged.
It's the torrent sites that can deal with bad torrents and your hunch is correct, the only way to avoid malware is not downloading suspicious torrents (or to be precise, not executing the downloaded files, downloading the torrent is not harmful even if the file is).
What's the risk in giving someone a deepseek api key that is loaded with $5? Five dollars in deepseek tokens is enough for like a week of constant use.
Every time I read something like this I think "wow the US so fucked".
Big publishers have been pumping mtx riddled buggy crap for a good while now, I have no sympathy.
Vast majority don't care about the console or hardware at all, they just want an easy way to play games on a tv. If consoles disappeared tomorrow, most people would start figuring how to connect a PC to a tv. It's not difficult, it's just less convenient until they learn how to use it.
The latency is crap for anything that requires real time input, the increased revenue will be taken by the cloud vendors, more developers will shift to indie development. Win win win.
I don't even know how many years I have been hearing this now
How does that compare to the operational cost of developing an app, maintaining an app, paying for the infrastructure behind it, and having the payment processors take their cut, operate customer support etc?
The person who only sees your contributions once a year should not decide on your promotion.
This is a problem that can be solved by just pressing pause, you don't need ads for this.
Nobody cares about how the game runs on <4GB vram in 2026, upgrade or play something else.
This is a problem you have to solve yourself, without relying on making facial scanning and profiling tech widespread.
The simple solution is that you live with the small amount of awkwardness this generates.
The hypocrisy is that meta is creating a tool that their employees are very uncomfortable seeing used on them.
What the law says about consent is irrelevant to the hypocrisy, and the videos are automatically uploaded to meta without anyone's consent anyway. You know this very well, there is no need to cosplay the smart devil's advocate.
>via our new extensibility system for CC, called Mods, which is launching soon-ish. A mod is a plugin with a new type of hook, which we call a function hook.
An extensibility system called mods, which is a plugin with a new type of hook that we call function hook?
I can't tell if this is real, or you are making fun of overengineered AI solutions.
Is this real?
Great idea, we could also have a standard in browsers that signals you don't want to be tracked. We could call it the "Do not track" header, short for DNT.
It would make sure no websites track you.
I may not be the one that came up with a thought originally, but I can echo it because I agree with it.
I disagree, the article was straightforward and easy to read.
Coming straight from the Anthropic marketing department
Are there any precedents that companies got sued on this? Not that I doubt you, but it would be nice to see if it actually has teeth or not.
>If we lived in a sane world, people would simply pay for what they use
This is some proper, indoctrinated, corporate bootlicker mentality.
95% of the phones on the market will spy on you, send your data back to the mothership, and they will sell your data to 3rd parties, and they cost $1400-$2000. You pay for the phone which is not even yours after the purchase, and then you still get ads, spied on, and your data sold. Google has a very large monetary incentive already to protect their customers and they do jack shit about the malware/adware in the play store.
TVs are even worse. LG TVs were just found to spy on you and nearby devices while they are off. Do you think those TVs are free? No, they also cost a fortune.
The current state of the world is that even if you pay you will get ads, spying, and malware. Get your head out of your ass.
Achieving something rather than nothing is obviously better, full stop. Bringing dead parents into this is just self help book literature.
Most people's existence are very strongly tied to their job. Not being able to pay basic utilities and food just the first examples.
Obviously, nobody is going to blip out of existence when their layoff notice is signed, everyone knows this and nobody claimed that. If you stepped down from your philosophical post humanist highchair a bit, you would realize that.
