Then pointing out the source is not to your standard is moot. This is a conversation, where opinions and conversations can be had out side in the views or credibility of the source which posted it.
If we were merely to consider the source then hacker news might as well be dig , but with a few “trusted” sources like what cnn?
Why do t you just read the article and make your own decisions based off the information provided.
The most reputable sites get stuff wrong all the time, so even the least reputable can probably get some things right sometimes.
The requirement for infromation to be valued based on who said it vs what is being said will be the downfall of society.
Meanwhile I can do just that and have been able to do that at every company ever. I don’t understand why this is an issue.
It has been garbage software from the start. You can tell this how they had “cli devs”, or whatever they called the people working on a cli.
Any time you have to give special titles to isolate software engineering work out as “different” you already know you are dealing with garbage.
Software Engineering is software engineering. Devops, backend, front end, whatever, higher Engineers and they can do it all. Higher devops and you are stuck with an employee who can only use a small tool set to solve problems.
Further more, Tim is bound by law to do what is best for the shareholders. Simply put, if Tim favored environmental concerns over profit he would be removed.
Homeless is such a broad term. It includes people that most people don’t even know exist.
When people say homeless they are referring to the visible ones on the street.
Most studies and statistics like to use the ones who are homeless on paper. They are the ones who don’t have place to live other than publicly provided facilities. There are entire apartments of people you would otherwise not know are “homeless”, simply because they are not the one paying for their own room and board.
We need a new term. Something to call the people that when somebody says homeless, we invasion in our head.
Homeless is to broad. Nobody thinks you are differently because you got kicked out of your apartment or lost a job and fell behind on mortgage.
In the other hand. The people clogging intersections. Spitting on others, taking shots in public, doing drugs and fuxking on the street, nobody thinks and no study shows 7500 would do anything other than make it worse. Ans that is why this study excluded these people from the study.
Gee I wonder why they did not interview legacy farmers...
Are paint brushes just tools people have access to, does the manufacturer of the paint brush own the painting?
Prompts are no different than positions and angles the artist instructs the tool to motion. The only real difference is the ratio of perceived work to output.
Even a prompt could take years to derive. I am 40. And 30 years ago I could have not com up with the following, making the prompt below 40 years in the making.
“Field of dead dreams, with copyright monsters flying above looking for there next meal”.
Spell check fixed a few things, along with typo correction, does Apple know own a copyright of my work?
Could the creator of the ai producing code then hold copyright, or maybe it’s those who found the weights?
This ruling seems to suggest any method of automating works would not qualify for copyright.
If so. We are just one step closer to abandoning the notion of a copyright, which still is the only logical solution in a world where we can have and do anything we desire at the click of a button.
What the issue was, and it’s one that I see often. Firstly no vision into the system. Not even a dash board showing the softwares running version. How often i see people ship software without a banner posting its version and or an endpoint that simply reports the version.
Secondly no god damn kill switch. You are working with money!! Shutting down has to be an option.
Given I use a much larger screen I can assure you it works well.
We will always have conservative views with perspective to the current status. And we will always have progressive or liberal views with perspective to the current status. As we roll one way or the other we will find our self in interesting places we thought not possible.
On top of all of that people of all political affiliation use laws to short slightly achieve goals with results in unexpected outcomes. This is what keeps the tire rolling left and right.
The solution? Logical thought and collaboration excluding those whom hold positions of political power.
99% of the time you just want information. Text. The chrome does not matter. Yet modern desktops and web pages make humans hunt and pick through poorly designed interfaces to get the info we need.
I use EXWM. It’s a time saver. I have no desktop because I am either using the full screen for a single application or flip flopping between a few apps that share the entire screen. This means every pixel of the screen is used and not wasted on useless images of empty fields.
In top of that I am able to designate windows and frames for specific jobs or functions, always able to recall the last terminal or most relevance.
We fucked up with movable windows. They are inefficient complicated and bring little value over a simple list of activities to switch between.
To further that we have moved to 3 days RTO, and have Monday and Friday as WFH. Guess what? Github activity and slack message counts are nearly non existence on Friday, and just a blip on Monday.
Companies have the data, they don't need external studies to tell them what they already know. This is why they can move forward with RTO without worrying about any of the nonsense the WFH crowd drone on about. WFH folks know they are wrong, and companies know the WFH peoples are wrong, and that is why every comment suggesting otherwise is a knee jerk reaction to mob anybody who suggest differently.
Good luck WFH folks, while I am at the office making impact, you won't even have a chance when it comes for review or promotion time, because you can't list "answered the door for a package delivery" as anything useful.
In my experience, anti RTO folks are stacked to 1 actually good employe to about 5 slackers.
I work with a few remote folks today. They are always out of to loop, late to deliver and somehow always have a reason to not be at meetings.
The worst of them before the pandemic were the ones that showed up at 11:30 ate free lunch and was out by 1:30.
While there are genuinely good employees who don’t want RTO, it’s the ones who yell about it the most who are poor performers.
That is a fairly big assumption without actual data.
If we are going to play that game.
In general people who want remote work care less about work and often are average or below average workers and are no stranger to looking for new jobs.
We have know for a long time that everything can be represented with numbers, even more so within the space of computers.
All we have done is invent a system to help us find numbers we find special.
The point of my post was huge assumptions about how the data would be collected. It’s such in the box thinking that the only systems that exist are that of Apple and Android.
Further more the responses and down votes just hi-lighted the bias reactions of all those musk haters.
I don’t even have twitter or what ever they call it know. I just know what a bias zero thinking assertion looks like.
Nobody has any clue how they will gather this data or even if it is for android or iOS.
It could be part of the X phone. X could use the camera and implement their own face unlock for X. X could use voice.
Could we say the same about the police not capturing and putting those stealing cars away?
Why is it Kia’s fault people are choosing to break the law?
